Dexter's Laboratory VS Strategy Guide

I said I was going to cover all Cartoon Network series, so it’s only natural to counter the first one ever, Dexter’s Laboratory! I love this series, and while I have covered it multiple times in the past, it’s been quite a while, and the verse still has plenty more to look at. So let’s get to it, here’s how to be OP in Dexter’s Lab!

Planet Tier:

Here we have the vast majority of characters, including the titular Dexter, his sister Dee Dee, and the various villains that they face. Dexter has been able to, multiple times, tank point blank explosions that violently shook the Earth, physically plug a Black Hole the size of a truck, and Dee Dee was able to effortlessly tank two planet sized meteorites smashing into each other at relativistic speed, which even by surface area is clearly planet level. In Speed, Dee Dee was able to move significantly faster than a laser to deflect it off glass, which proceeded to fly into deep space in a second, making it Super obvious faster than light movement speed, that said, characters should have massively faster than light reaction speed from being able to pilot interstellar ships and mecha. So this will be the limit for characters. Unsurprisingly, this verse excels at the Secondary Stat of Intelligence, having millions and millions of Genius level characters, to the point that the entire population of Japan is able to build their own futuristic giant mech suits. The Smartest character in the verse is Dexter, who is capable of perfectly controlling and utilizing all of the energy in the entire Universe, bending reality to his whim, and brought mankind from literal primitives to a Perfect Utopia, which puts him at a Level 5 Intellect, and very arguably the most intelligent cartoon character ever. Trying to outsmart the characters at this tier is probably the worst strategy you can go for as a result, there are so few characters that could, and even if you find one it is extremely inefficient. This however isn’t to say they are slouches in the other stats, in fact, Dexter characters have really solid secondary stats all around, and notably have really good skill, with Dexter being skilled enough to single handedly defeat the entire US Navy, in his underwear, with just a small spray bottle, and many characters have matched skill with him.

Moving onto powers, this series has its fair deal of Aliens, including parasitic slime creatures that can multiply and control people's minds, the Organ Grinder who can hypnotically control monkeys and primates, a giant, flying, shape shifting, lizard alien who can quickly power-drain planets with his tongue, and worst of all, Hookocho an anime villain who exists on the mental plane, and has godly energy manipulation and electricity powers that can affect a whole imaginary planet! But speaking of higher plane entities, Dexter has a fair deal of those, ranging from Ghosts which are intangible, and can drag people into pocket dimensions, Disembodied AI like Master Computer, who can possess and corrupt technology and digitize beings into it where he’s a god, and imaginary mental plane creatures like Koosie. As a Koosalagoopagoop he can change his size to anything, teleport, fly, store stuff in a pocket dimension, and can make portals to and from the realm of imagination, and even use this to travel to other verses, as he is friends with Bubbles from PPG. There’s also the Extra-Dimensional Horror, a powerful logia monster, which exists in the 4th dimension so is intangible to 3 dimensional attacks, but can still hit us. But don’t think that the humans in Dexter don’t pack some crazy powers. You have superhuman fighters like Agent Honeydew who has telepathic communication, black ops fighters with manly beard powers, photographers who can seal you in photos, moms who have legit superpowers, and clowns who can turn others into clowns by biting them like a werewolf.

But definitely the most underrated character in the entire series is Dee Dee, who is extremely powerful in her own right. First off Dee Dee has off the chart skill, being a trained ninja, race car driver, and apprenticed under the black ops hero, Action Hank, who was able to beat the shit out of a whole group of Alien Guards that enslaved Dexter, and defeat armies of robots by dancing, without even noticing. She has a great deal of potent imagination powers, like creating imaginary friends, which are super powered entities, invisible and inaudible to those that don’t think they exist. She also created an entire planet existing on the mental plane, which she controls and manipulates with her mind, and can make portals to dimensionally travel, or BFR someone to her world. She can also banish imaginary entities via imagining them away, and after training to become a Mime, she attained classic mine powers, able to create invisible tools or objects for her own use, essentially a somewhat limited form of telekinesis, which she can use to make make impenetrable invisible walls and boxes, lassos to trap, snare, grapple or collect things and weapons to attack. Dee Dee is also as smart as Dexter, however rather than Science and Math, Dee Dee excels in History, Fantasy and Mysticism. She is knowledgeable on fairytale creatures, Zodiac stuff, and star dictation, able to summon and banish the shoe gnomes, accurately understand the laws of the universe, and furthermore, reached Spiritual Enlightenment. Attaining this has given Dee Dee numerous additional powers, including Levitation, Teleportation, and Spatial Manipulation. She can Astral Project herself from the spirit world into the land of the living, as well as telepathically talk to people in dreams. She can also communicate with animals and control and summon sealife, at one point straight up murdering this pirate, Wet Willy, by summoning a bunch of sea sponges that dissolved him into bones. Lastly, Dee Dee has some forms of metafictional manipulation, controlling the scene transitions to move herself and Dexter into the kitchen, pulling down an end tidal screen to conclude the show, and Immersion, that lets her enter into a TV and attack foes Through it.

But lastly, We have to talk about Dexter and Mandark, the premier scientific geniuses of the series. Dexter has built an incredibly powerful and varied arsenal of technology over the years, which he always has access to and cannot be disarmed of thanks to his teleportation remotes that let him bring any of it right to his location, and his Teletonic Manifestation Device, which lets him recreate any tech merely by thinking of it. Dexter has a lot of direct abilities through this, Lasers, Force Fields, missiles and numerous ways of bolstering his stats from hundreds to literally Millions of times over. He can Read Minds, Erase Memories, and Hypnotize people, turn invisible and detect hidden entities, and make literally hundreds of clones of himself. Some of Dexter's most hax abilities include his numerous methods of advanced Time Manipulation, Transmutation & Digitization, Potent Size Manipulation, Bringing Inanimate Objects to Life and being able to fight and manipulate astral plane entities. Mandark doesn’t really have any tech that Dexter doesn’t, but he does add a few helpful spells like summoning interdimensional beasts, and regenerating himself from complete cellular destruction.

So what would be some good counterplay options to this tier? The Dexter Verse doesn’t really have any weaknesses in terms of Secondary Stats, and has a wide range of abilities and hax that work on the physical, astral, mental and even somewhat in the absolute plane, so you would need a versatile generalist character to deal with all the threats this can throw at you. Technopathy would of course be a strong ability to deal with the advanced tech that populates this verse, but this verse surprisingly doesn't rely on Technology nearly as much as one would suspect. Some other powers that have shown to be useful in this series include Mind Control, Energy Draining and Duplication. One character I think could work really well here is,

Kokonoe Mercury:

Kokonoe from Blazblue would do pretty well here. Kokonoe is relevant to the Large Planet, FTL feats of Makoto destroying the moon, meaning she can hold her ground here in stats. Kokonoe is a total and complete supergenius who is optimized for effective combat ability. With her Tech, Kokonoe can teleport across space and time, and mess with it however she wants, as it also immunizes her from paradoxes. She has incredible super senses, potent soul and mind manipulation and has the ability to generate a pocket reality around herself where she can manipulate the world around her as if it was made of data. She is an expert strategist and has resistance to basically all the hax in this tier via her various force fields, ya know, like most Blazblue characters. Her only real threat is Dee Dee managing to trap her in dream space or use meta powers. For a more protected counter,

The Sleeper:

The Sleeper from the Behemoth would be a great choice. Like the rest of the Pit People Cast, The Sleeper is capable of intercepting and blocking Hatty’s laser which could travel to Saturn in seconds and destroy it, putting him in the range of Dexter characters. The Sleeper is a Mental Plane entity that often comes down into the physical plane to rest. When he rests, his dreams leak into reality, projecting changes to the entire environment and creating hundreds and hundreds of beings that will passively protect and fight for him, and can develop powers to counter what their enemies can throw at them. The Sleeper is intangible to all non-mental plane beings, and his warriors are able to hit on the physical, astral and mental planes alike, allowing him the ability to attack any entity in verse, he can also fly and teleport himself between Planes and use this to BFR people. The Sleeper is an even more powerful dream manipulator than Dee Dee, so is unlikely to be defeated by other Dream beings, still Dee Dee managing to beat him with that, or her Metafictional powers, is certainly possible, for a complete counter...

Malware:

Yes, Malware, the unstoppable alien monster from Ben 10. Malware is a Galvanic Mechamorph, the same species as Ben’s Alien, Upgrade, only mutated by a glitch in his programming. Unlike adding himself to technology to improve it like a standard Mechamorph, Malware permanently absorbs any tech he comes into contact with and uses it to Upgrade Himself. Malware is strong enough to overpower Ben’s Alien Way Big, who once blocked an Incursion Laser Cannon that would have violently destroyed the Earth. He also has absorbed a Galvan Jetpack that allows him to fly between planets, and easily match the Dexter Characters in raw stats. Malware would be absolutely Devastating in the Dexter Verse, not only does he possess all the abilities of Ben’s Upgrade form, like digitization manipulation, electrokinesis and disabling technology, but can massively improve himself in basically any category with his unique powers. Malware’s body is made up entirely of a Liquid Metal substance that lets him shapeshift, alter his size and shrug off damage. Even after being completely disintegrated on a subcellular level, twice, he can still regenerate back, making him effectively impossible to defeat with raw force alone. Malware would be outright immune to all forms of biological, astral or mental form hax, due to not possessing any cells, soul or mind to attack, and despite that is also Ridiculously intelligent, able to make an upgraded version of the Omnitrix from scratch after only interacting with it briefly, and the Omnitrix is the sole piece of Level 20 Tech in the Ben 10 series. Malware is able to absorb any technology he comes into contact with, and his range is massive, one time literally spreading himself across the entire Moon of Galvan B and infecting every normal member of his species in an instant! This means he could immediately spread himself into Dexter’s Lab and gain control of all his technology, including mind control, soul attacks, transmutation and many many more, to use against the verse. He is capable of absorbing any technology, including stealing the Time Manipulation abilities of the cybernetic Chronosapiens (Meaning he can resist Time Hax), and actually pulling Aliens out of Ben’s watch to destroy them on contact, plus once he absorbs something, it cannot be used against him. While there would certainly still be powers in the verse that pose a threat to Malware, like Metafictional Powers, one piece of Tech he has already absorbed back in Ben 10 is the Tachyon cannon, which disrupts every cell with matching DNA in range in one shot, meaning if fired at a person, it would destroy every person for hundreds of miles past the cellular level, almost certainly taking out characters before they are even aware of his presence. Malware is essentially an unstoppable Monster who would be able to near instantly take in and gain the powers of all Dexter’s technology, and destroy everything so rapidly that even the few hax that can still stop him would never get him in time.

Stellar Tier:

Here we have our second tier, which mostly contains characters from the Dexter‘s Laboratory companion series’, Dial M for Monkey and The Justice Friends, both of which take place in the same universe as the main show. This tier is composed entirely of various different superhero and super villain characters from the series, the most powerful of which being Monkey, who was strong enough to pull every single celestial body in the solar system, including the Sun, out of Barbequor’s throat, as well as being fast enough to fly to the sector seven star system in about three seconds, which would be about 300 billion times the speed of light. Most of the other heroes here are at least somewhat relevant to Monkey, and many villains like Quackor, Rasslor and Badaxtra being equal or outright superior to him. So solar system level, billions of times the speed of light will be the limit.

Characters in this tier sport incredible skill and very high stamina, it is also no slouch in intelligence, as the cosmic super ape, Simion, is smart enough to create matter from sheer thought, and use this to create a super advanced space fleet capable of conquering the Earth. The vast majority of them are able to fly, breathe in outer space with no difficulty and fire a great deal of powerful projectile attacks, from laser eyes, electrical blasts, sonic shockwaves, and damaging beams of magic. There's a fair deal of super senses in this tier, such as Major Glory’s X-Ray Vision, and Magmanamus’ ability to somehow hear all the activity of humans on the surface, from the Earth’s Core. Magmanamus is also a giant Logia Lava monster who controls Fire and Lava. Monkey can surround himself in a damaging energy aura, and has psionic powers like Telekinesis and Telepathy, Krunk can regenerate from being sliced to pieces, and Valhallen can control clothing, and teleport. Rasslor can actually teleport large groups of people at once, and Barbequor has a hypnotic bug zapper that draws foes towards their doom.

So strategies for this tier are far more simple than for the previous tier as the powers themself are more simple. Basically the characters here are generally powerful super beings who are good at all around combat, but can be brought down by a character with high power variety, or one really potent ability. For Example,

Professor Utonium:

I think Professor Utonium would do really well in this tier! The Professor is the genius creator of The Powerpuff Girls, and one of the smartest characters in Cartoon Network behind Dexter, so it seemed like a good time to let him shine. Utonium cannot compete with these characters in stats, as powerpuff civilians only scale to about Town Level, FTL. But that's the thing, no one in this tier would just target a mild mannered Scientist, before he had prep time. Utonium has made numerous mechanical suits that are completely on level with The Powerpuff girls themselves, such as the mecha, Dynamo, or more appropriately, his Powerprof Battle Suit. This would raise his stats to the same level as the characters here, and flat out superior in speed. Even without that, The Professor has invented tons of hax gear over the years that could allow him to totally stop anyone here, such as Time Travel, to go back and alter them getting superpowers, or a device that swaps everyone's bodies to mess with their abilities. The Professor has also time and time again been established to be more intelligent than Mojo Jojo, meaning he could logically invent anything that Mojo has, including Mind Control, Teleportation and Matter Manipulation to counter their powers further. Even without his tech it is still possible he could win a fight here, as humans in PPG have been able to physically beat up PPG level entities before when feeling extreme enough.

That said, he is rather reliant on his intellect to pull a win here, for someone who could stand against them head to head, how about,

Esmeraude:

MY Fave member of the Black Moon Clan, (With terrible taste in Men), Esmeraude from Sailor Moon. As a member of the Black Moon Clan, Esmeraude scales above the power of arc 1 sailor moon, who was able to destroy a star level shield from Kunzite, putting her at similar strength to any of these heroes. While she is ‘only’ FTL by comparison, she wears earrings made of Black Crystal, which passively warp spacetime and nullify positive energy, preventing her from being blitzed or sniped by a projectile attack. She can also use these to teleport herself and others, and BFR foes to Blackholes or the Edge of Spacetime, allowing her to nullify the advantage of their own teleportation, and seriously mess with their ranks. Esmeraude can fly and fire deadly dark energy attacks, but deadliest of all is her Beast Hand Technique, which turns her arms into stretchy black claws that can drain away the energy of anyone they touch, which is a very broken technique in universe. That said she could still be defeated by numerous characters working together, and would in particular be vulnerable to Monkey’s telekinesis if he busted that out. For a more complete counter, how about...

The Nega-Chin:

The Nega-Chin, the Crimson Chin’s Arch Enemy from Fairly Oddparents! Nega-Chin scales significantly above the citizens of Dimsdale, who were once able to endure the force needed to hurdle the Earth into the Sun at highly Relativistic Speed, and Vicky was able to beat up Mandie, who was faster than Mark Changs spaceship capable of traveling Billions of times the speed of light, so he's pretty comparable to the characters here. Nega-Chin has numerous common superhero powers like flight and heat vision, as well as teleportation gear that allows him to match all the mobility options here. The Nega-Chin is a fictional comic book character in the FOP World, who is able to freely travel into and out of his comic at will, and can use this to toss other heroes in comics to BFR them away from this world. But his MOST deadly ability is his signature Nega-Vision, which rapidly drains away all the power and abilities of other super beings, and gives them to NC. He was able to drain all the power of Mighty Mom and Dyno Dad, who normally scale above him, in an instant. Meaning he would quickly become unstoppable here.

Dracula Verse Challenge: Dracula Comparison

Dracula, Probably the most iconic monster in all of horror, Originally published as the main villain of the novel of the same name by British Author, Bram Stoker in the 1890s, based on the Wallachian Prince, Vlad The Impaler. Since then, he has been adapted over and over again throughout pop-culture, in comics, video games, anime, but most iconically in Horror Movies! So today, I wanted to compare the original novel version of Dracula, to three different film iterations of the character, to compare and contrast or similarities and differences, and most importantly, determine which one is the more powerful Dracula.

  • Dracula (Novel) vs Dracula (Universal)

Starting us off, we are using Dracula from the Universal canon started back in 1931, This is the first film version of Dracula, as well as easily the most Iconic.

Power:

  • Novel: Dracula is stated to have the strength of 20 men physically, but in terms of destructive capacity he has been able to create blasts of lightning that illuminated the entire night sky, and Created one of the largest storms on record, and maintained it for four days, including during the daytime when he is supposedly significantly weaker than normal. It seems to suggest that he is capable of casually creating hurricanes with his power, and it is also stated at one point that he would be able to survive the force of a volcano, which gives some consistency.

  • Universal: The universal version of Dracula skills to the universal version of Frankenstein, due to this fight with the Wolfman in ‘Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein’, and the Wolfman having fought evenly with, and damaged Frankenstein in ‘Frankenstein meets The Wolfman’. At the end of “The Bride of Frankenstein”, the Frankenstein monster stood in the middle of the large Frankenstein tower as it was destroyed in an explosion, and collapsed violently on top of him, yet was able to survive without a scratch.

While one could easily argue that the film version of Dracula is physically stronger than the novel version, The Sheer Destructive Capacity the novel version has would be absolutely unheard of in these classic universal movies, particularly because the film does not establish Dracula as being responsible for the storm that befell the cargo ship he arrived on. Destructive capacity is almost always more important than physical strength in verses matchups, and the difference between their physical strength is significantly less than the difference between their destructive capacity at that. This is a major victory for the novel Dracula.

Speed:

  • Novel: Dracula Has been described as being ‘quick as lightning’, and while I would call this hyperbole because he has no feats that actually prove this, he has multiple times been shown to be so fast the can speed past people, including low level super humans, without their eyes being able to detect him, which would suggest he has supersonic speeds.

  • Universal: as stated earlier, the universal version of Dracula scales to the universal version of Frankenstein. In ‘Ghost of Frankenstein’ The Frankenstein monster is able to time and move in tandem with a bolt of lightning from the sky. So, Dracula IS actually as fast as lightning here.

Universal Dracula has a pretty sizable speed advantage over the original novel version, he would likely be in excess of 100 times faster and would casually be able to score hits on him and avoid being attacked himself.

Abilities:

  • Novel: Dracula in the Novel is an extremely skilled warrior who lacks fear. He has many classic vampire abilities including shapeshifting into a bat, wolf or a logia intangible cloud of mist. He is able to Hypnotize people or drain away someone’s strength with his gaze, and project a Fear Aura powerful enough to paralyze people and kill large animals. He can turn intangible at will, teleport around the area, manipulate his size to grow large, or shrink to unnoticeably small, and control weather events, summoning storms, bolts of lightning and fog. With his Telekinesis, Dracula has been able to steer an entire ship, or maintain the structure of his entire castle, even in day time and from far away. He has super senses that let him see in the dark, and Adhesion to climb walls and ceilings, plus his dark powers allow him to control the dead, animals, darkness and the insane.

  • Universal: Dracula in this canon can also shapeshift into a bat, wolf or cloud of smoke, turn intangible, hypnotize people, scale walls, and use telekinesis. But much of his arsenal is more unique. Dracula can summon blasts of fire, turn invisible, and possesses a High-Mid Regeneration ability that allowed him to quickly come back from a Skeleton. His blood draining ability also can allow him to take full on possession of his victims, even from beyond the grave.

These two share a great deal of powers, some of which will cancel out, yes, but in many of them the Novel Dracula just has higher showings. Comparing their unique abilities, both have some useful powers, like Teleportation and Invisibility, But overall I’d say that the Novel version has better power variety.

Weakness:

  • Novel: Vampires tend to have a variety of weaknesses and this is no exception. When under direct sunlight, Dracula is severely weakened, not being able to use many of his supernatural powers, and having the power he does have diminished, it is tricky, but possible for normal humans to kill him with knives in this state. Dracula can also be harmed or repelled by Wooden Stakes, Cloves of Garlic, Wild Roses, Running Water and any Holy artifact such as a Crucifix and Holy Water.

  • Universal: Dracula here has many of the same weaknesses as the novel one, still being weak to holy artifacts and garlic, although is unaffected by flowers or running water. There are only two ways to kill him, The first one being driving a wooden stake through his heart, although this is not a permanent solution, As should the stake ever be removed, he will immediately regenerate back. That being said, his weakness to sunlight is far more damning. If Dracula is exposed to the light of day, his entire body will be permanently reduced to Ash.

Battle:

Despite the sheer Power that the Novel Dracula brings to the table this would by no means be an easy fight. Universal Dracula is much faster than him and would be more than capable of blitzing his way into close range to attack, while avoiding even the Novel Dracula’s Lightning attacks. Both of these two have Hypnosis, but as both establish that you can resist hypnosis with a strong will, and both clearly possess a strong will, I don’t believe either would work on the other. As Intangible beings SHOULD Be able to interact with other intangible beings that likely cancels out too. A lot of their powers wouldn't work on eachother like that, including Possession, Control of the Dead, and the Fear Aura, ntm their shape shifting cancels out. Universal Dracula’s best power for this would be his Invisibility, as he could use it to sneak up on the Novel Dracula and use a Wild Rose on him or something, but even this has its counterplays. With Novel Dracula’s Telekinesis, he could essentially put a telekinetic barrier around himself that the Universal one would just NOT be able to pass with his own power, regardless of speed. Novel Dracula could also use his improved movement option of Teleportation to vanish from where the Universal one could see him, as he lacks the super senses to track him down. Most Damningly, since the Novel Dracula can move around in the Daylight, he could easily just escape and expose him to the sun to kill him, hell he could literally Telekinetically break a hole through the building he’s sleeping under to expose him that way if he wanted. Yeah Novel Drac wins.

  • Dracula (Novel) vs Dracula (Hammer)

Round 2: Hammer Dracula was first made in 1958 and continued on until the late 70s. With a total of 7 films, it is the longest run of Dracula films that exists.

Power:

Hammer Dracula is portrayed as being able to smash through walls and endure violent carriage crashes, he’s superior in power to anyone in his series.

This would still be very weak compared to Novel Dracula even physically, he would not be able to win in melee.

Speed:

At one point he was able to wake up from his coffin, open the lid, climb out of it and close the lid back up again before a human sitting right next to and watching the coffin noticed, which is a casual Subsonic Feat.

Hammer and Novel Dracula would be relatively even in speed overall, with Novel maybe having a slight advantage.

Abilities:

Hammer Dracula has many more unique abilities, in addition to some possessed by the Novel version. Able to climb walls, hypnotize foes, and use telekinesis, and while he can’t actually turn into a bat, he has control over all bats and uses them to do his bidding. He can control fire, and possesses a Fear Aura so powerful that the very shadow of his castle prevented anyone from going near it, or to church in 10 years, despite him actually being dead that entire time. But his greatest aspect is just how impossible it is to kill him conventionally. Hammer Dracula has Mid-High regeneration, and has returned from nothing more than ashes or a drop of blood. He was once even able to self resurrect himself after his entire physical body was erased from existence!

Novel Dracula has a fair deal more power variety than he does, but some of the abilities exclusive to Hammer Dracula, allow him to hang in there like a real cockroach.

Weaknesses:

Where this version of Dracula seems to fall apart is how he has literally all the weaknesses possible. He has every single weakness the above two have, including obscure things like running water from a river being able to paralyze him. He has that weakness of not being able to enter into a place he was not invited into. And in addition to Sunlight and Wooden Stakes, he can also be killed by Fire, Silver, the Hawthorne bush, and a Bible.

Battle:

Battle time...well I suppose it's not so much a Battle as it is a Standoff! Hammer Dracula basically has no way to kill the Novel Drac, but would be next to impossible to kill even with the Massive power advantage. But could the Novel Dracula pull it off? Well lets see, Novel Dracula is described as being particularly very fearless, so I believe he is perfectly capable of walking straight through the Fear Aura of Hammer Drac, and after that he could easily pound him down over and over, but it couldn’t kill him. BUT then there's the trick, this Dracula could easily use weaknesses of Hammer Dracula that he doesn’t have himself. If he walked in there armed with Silver, and Fire and a Crown of Thorns then there’d be no way Hammer Dracula would survive. And Hammer Dracula really cannot replicate this strategy, as ANY Weakness that the Novel Dracula has, this one has to an even worse degree. Even with prep time Hammer Dracula’s best accomplishment was making a Plague that could wipe out humanity if allowed to spread, but Novel Dracula is explicitly immune to earthly disease.

  • Dracula (Novel) vs Dracula (Coppola)

For the final round, we’re doing Coppola Dracula. Coming out in the year 1992, this is the film version of Dracula I personally consider to be the closest and most accurate to the original novel, so this will be fun!

Power:

This Dracula was able to create a massive hurricane that devastated the British coast line for days on end, Telekinetically moved A cumulus cloud to block the sun and has displayed Hydrokinesis enough to create so much fog, that the cargo ship carrying him got lost in it for 4 straight days, these feats of weather manipulation are roughly in the gigatons.

This film essentially copied the feats from the novel, but they ended up actually being slightly more impressive in practice, Coppola Dracula would actually have a small edge in sheer power.

Speed:

Coppola Dracula was able to sprint across the streets of London at speeds too fast for any bystanders to notice, which would be supersonic speed. He was also able to telekinetically move that cloud at speeds many times faster than sound, implying he can react to that at least.

While their movement speeds Are fairly comparable, Coppola Dracula’s reactions are more impressive. If they were to enter into Melee, the Novel Version would appear to be sluggish by his perception.

Abilities:

This Dracula has the same shapeshifting abilities as the Novel version (bat, wolf, fog) but with extra features like being able to stretch his body elastically, turn into several different monster forms, and even turn himself into a literal swarm of rats, where if one survives, so will he. This Dracula is an incredibly skilled warrior, stated to be able to take on armies at once, before becoming a vampire at all. He has a Great deal of the abilities that Dracula had in the novel, including hypnosis, weather manipulation, telekinesis, intangibility, adhesion, teleportation, and power over animals. He’s also got a few of his own powers, including memory manipulation and mind reading, levitation, and the power to turn invisible. He’s got animalistic super senses and X-Ray Vision, control over Darkness, Fire and Blood, and an aura of passive Death Hax that kills those around him.

I have to admit, considering that this Dracula only had one movie, while the last two had more than five each, his power variety is insane! Coppola Dracula easily has an arsenal of abilities that rival his novel counterpart, and it would be to some fun interactions between the exclusive powers they have. Things like the novel version's size manipulation against this version's ability to turn into a rat swarm, or electrokinesis versus umbrakinesis.

Weaknesses:

This Dracula has essentially the exact same weaknesses as the Novel version, meaning while it weakens him, Dracula cannot die due to sunlight alone, able to walk through it with little trouble. Garlic and Holy objects still work fine, but he actually does have less weaknesses than the novel version, due to the movie not establishing the Rose or Water weaknesses.

Battle:

Now THIS is a major challenge, these two are very close in almost every way, to the point that all of their shared powers essentially cancel out. Coppola Drac has Umbrakinetic attacks, but with the light that Novel Dracula can generate with lightning, it's unlikely this would be able to do much to help, similarly his passive Death Hax doesn’t matter because Novel Dracula is among the Undead. Novel Dracula’s could try to sneak up on him with his size manipulation, but Coppola Drac actually has several counters to that, including super senses, mind reading and turning into a swarm of rats, NTM with Coppola Drac’s reaction time, even his lightning would be hard to score a hit with. The two are close but Ultimately I believe that the Coppola Dracula would take this more often than not. The Coppola Dracula has a slight advantage in his stats, and having some powerful additional abilities like memory wiping, could give him a considerable statistical edge. Plus, since he has Less weaknesses than the Novel counterpart, he has more on the table to exploit.

Thor's Top 5 Cartoon Rabbits

One of the most popular aesthetics to use in cartoons is to have the characters take the form of Anthropomorphised animals, to the point that during the founding days of animation from the late 1800s to the early 1900s, cartoons featuring only animals were more common than ones that had Humans, and even today are still seen fairly regularly. The reasoning for this varies and has evolved, originally being to help with uncanny valley and making the characters more appealing, and now being to evoke a more fairy tale like or chaotic setting. Which brings us to our topic today Rabbits in Cartoons. Rabbits are adorable, timid and very good natured animals that are well loved in pop culture. Generally, when someone makes a character a Rabbit it is for one of two purposes, they are A). making a kind and sympathetic character with difficulty expressing themself, using common knowledge of rabbits to amplify our perception and understanding of these traits, or B). going against this trope by having the character be super rambunctious and independent, clashing with common knowledge of rabbits to make it more humorous or surprising. Some of the Best ones will even do Both! So in honor of this, Today I’m Gonna give you my Top 5 Favorite Cartoon Rabbits from TV! Note, I am limiting this to one Rabbit Per Show.

#5.

Panini: (Chowder)

Technically Panini is a Bunny-Cat Hybrid, but yeah, just by looking at her, she counts. Panini is a character that C.H. Greenblat originally conceived to be a bully character for Chowder, but upon thinking that that was cliché, he instead changed the character to be a sweet girl who had a major crush on Chowder, which can be something just as irritating to deal with for a young boy who does not yet have interest in girls. Panini is very sweet, responsible and actually quite funny, with her crush on Chowder generally being wholesome, but still allowing her to go too crazy or exaggerated heights or come up with fun schemes. And when not in plots with Chowder, we see her as being a total go-getter, who is very take charge and constantly putting her all into any task she’s given. It’s also sweet that the show does establish that once Chowder becomes more mature he Will reciprocate her feelings. Panini is easily one of the best characters in the show, to the point that I think one of the biggest flaws is the series is not using her more often.

#4.

Oswald The Lucky Rabbit: (Mickey Mouse)

Oswald is one of the earliest cartoon rabbits ever made, predating Looney Tunes and even the iconic Mickey Mouse. In fact Oswald was created by Walt Disney as his main cartoon star Before Mickey Mouse, making numerous cartoon shorts with the company, Universal. However, when Walt left the company to start his own, he lost the rights to Oswald as a character, leading to him making Mickey as a replacement. Fast forward 70 years or so and the Disney company has become one of the biggest Entertainment companies on Earth and Mickey has become an international Icon, while Oswald is an obscure character that Disney bought back from Universal with total ease. The Most interesting thing about Oswald is how since being brought home, these real life hardships the character has had to go through have affected him as a character. He’s Mickey’s brother who was lost to the fame and love that should have been his. He was initially jealous of Mickey, but moved past that and is trying to make a name for himself of his own ability. Oswald is incredibly sympathetic and very fun, but the sheer intrigue and depth of his character would be near impossible to replicate with any other character, and that’s what makes him special.

Anais Watterson: (The Amazing World of Gumball)

Technically Anais is a Bunny-Cat Hybrid….. wow, what are the chances I would have to say that twice? Anyway, same principle applies. Anais is the youngest member of the Watterson family, and Gumball’s little sister. Despite this she is a complete and total prodigy child who is significantly smarter than everyone else in her family and very arguably the entire series as a whole. She is constantly shown to be the most clever, the most responsible, the most mature, and certainly the one who will be the most successful when she gets older. But the one thing she is terrible at is social settings. Anais has social anxiety which has prevented her from making friends with anyone outside of her own family, which is directly contrasting Gumball and Darwin who are more social butterflies. She spends a great deal of the series trying to make friends with others, and it leads too many sweet moments where her brothers help her in these endeavors and manage to get her some success. Anais also has the least amount of negative showings in the series, she is sweet, and almost never flaunts her superior intellect over anyone. Plus she is one of the Funniest characters to involve in the most insane situations Gumball pulls due to her more often than not being the straight man and voice of reason.

Bugs Bunny: (Looney Tunes)

Well this had to be on here, and it is well deserved! Bugs Bunny is not only the most famous cartoon Rabbit, but literally among the most iconic cartoon characters of all time! Bugs earned this title for a reason, having started out under the simple premise, a Hunter is Hunting Rabbits, but finds a Rabbit that is Way too smart and clever to be hunted, and it completely exploded from there. Bugs is one of the most clever cartoon characters out there, seldom ever not being in complete control of whatever situation he's in through a combination of good ol’ knowhow, and some extremely inventive toon force abilities which helped set the groundwork for how cartoons are seen today. Nearly every cartoon rabbit since his creation, including my #1 pick, is at least partially inspired by Bugs. His creator, Chuck Jones tailored Bugs’ stories so that it would always be Bugs defending himself from an aggressive enemy, so that Bugs could get as over the top with his pranks as he wanted and would still always be seen as in the right and who the audience was rooting for. Mel Blanc gave him his iconic wiseguy style voice that makes it seem as if he can talk his way out of any situation, armed gunman, terrifying monsters, and other Looney Tunes stars just didn’t stand a chance. He has become the mascot of Warner Bros. and is canonically looked at with high regard by every Cartoon Network character because of it.

Babs Bunny: (Tiny Toon Adventures)

Babs Bunny is without any doubt my fave Bunny from any cartoon! Babs perfectly embodies both aspects of the rabbit character archetype I had mentioned in the beginning. Babs is the spunky, energetic class clown, taking after a lot of the zanier, more cartoony aspects of Bugs as opposed to the Layback and Clever aspects Buster took after. Babs, even as a kid, I always found to be the funniest and most entertaining character in the show. When I was a little kid I tended to not like girly female characters, but Babs absolutely was an exception that shattered that to pieces. Infact she’s actually one of my favorite girl power type characters, as shown in the first episode where upon Buster reacting strongly to his co-host being a girl, she simply said “welcome to the 90s”, saying she doesn’t need to prove her worth when he’s the one behind the times is a pretty good lesson. Her Humor is wacky and groundbreaking at the time, especially with her habit of doing flawless vocal impressions of numerous other characters and celebrities at the time, which made my jaw drop when I found out it was all the same voice actor. But behind all this, Babs is actually a very deep and interesting character. I relate to Babs SO Hard in nearly every episode she is in. She is the struggling artist of Acme Loo, who is trying really hard to make it as a cartoon star, but puts on this facade of being full of herself and deflecting everything with a joke. This often leads her to take jokes too far to the point of disrupting class if she's getting enough attention. She has an ear for the classic old days of cartoons, her idols being Honey and Bosko, the first Looney Tunes ever, and tries to pay homage to them with her humor. She is the responsible and caring older sister to literally Dozens of siblings. All of these are issues, quirks and responsibilities I have wrestled with a great deal in the past to some degree. But above all else, what I like about Babs is just how much she looks out for everybody, the kinda gal who will work for weeks to save black and white cartoon characters from being forgotten, or leave her Prom to make sure someone she doesn’t even like has a date. And that's why she’s my Fave Cartoon Bunny.

How They Compare: Revolta (Scooby-Doo)

One of my favorite pieces of Scooby Doo media is Scooby Doo and The Ghoul School, which is ironic because the reason I like it is the concept is so strong that I really wanted them to just write the Scooby Doo characters out of it and make it its own series, so today I thought It’d be fun to look at the main villain of the film, Revolta, The Witch of The Web. In the Southern portion of the Bayou lies Barren Bog, a nightmarish swamp filled full of terrors right out of classic universal, and additionally, is home to Mrs. Grimwood’s Finishing School for Girls, a prestigious academy, attended by the Daughters of the most Powerful Monsters in the world, including Dracula, Frankenstein and The Wolf Man. But overlooking this land is the spooky Castle Revolta, where the Witch of the same name watches on.

Revolta is a 4 armed Spider Witch, who seeks to capture and control the students of Grimwood to use as leverage against their powerful fathers, so that they will not stand in the way of her goal to take over all of Monsterdom. She is strong enough to endure a massive explosion and subsequent volcanic eruption, and is able to compete with and be a relevant threat to the Ghoul School girls, who are officially ranked as level 4 in the OK KO Rating system, which would mean she scales at least somewhat to Rad’s feat of making a continent sized crack across an Earth Sized Planet with a handshake. Speed Wise, Elsa can time Lightning Strikes, Tanis has been able to swim the length of the Nile River 1.5 times in 30 seconds (measured at Mach 972) and all of them scale to the Relativistic feats of Level 3 KO Heros.

Revolta has a fairly large spell variety that relies on her control over things around her, particularly plant manipulation. She was able to make a very strong octopus-like plant creature called the Grim Creeper, who can think and act independently, elastically extend his limbs and is relevant to the Grimwood Girls in speed and power. She can also grow specific plants throughout the Barren Bog, including spy pods that not only let her keep constant watch of everything in her surroundings, but function as portals which she can travel through. Revolta can also summon and manipulate creatures called Spider-Bats, Bat Sized flying arachnid creatures that shoot webbing restraints. If this webbing comes into contact with one's Head, it allows Revolta to use her trademark hax, Mind Control. Revolta’s Mind control can manipulate one's thoughts from things as simple as putting subliminal messages in their heads, to taking full control of them as a mental slave, even against those with mind control abilities of their own like Sibella. While the Spider-Bat Mind Control does wear off after a few hours she can make a potion to permanently control people should she have prep time.

Revolta is in control of the mirror dimension and can trap foes inside of mirrors, or let loose a monsterous version of her foe called a Mirror Monster bent on hunting them down and taking their place in this world. Offensively she can also Fly on her Broomstick, and use her wand to fire powerful magical blasts, or beams that Transmutate her foes into animals or objects. She has shown to be quite intelligent with technology, potions and strategy, though a major weakness she has is lacking adaptability when her plans go array, she is not able to improvise in the field when things become chaotic. Revolta is also very reliant on magical tools she can be disarmed of, and has a sense of entitlement about her that has led to arrogance and mistakes.

So How Would She Do in Other Verses?

In DC Comics, Revolta would be similar in stats to Aquaman and his villains, but would likely be a threat dealt with by the more magic and investigation based characters like Constantine and Zatanna as she is more likely to stay in the shadows and build up power through subtle use of her powers. She is significantly above the vast majority of Magic Users in raw stats yet she is not nearly as hax as they are, so in a fight with them she would need to blitz and oneshot, and if anything gets in the way of that they could take her out with some advanced hex. She could probably Mind Control a great deal of smaller heroes and prominent DC Figures over a relatively short time. However she would need to be careful and not draw the attention of powerful heroes before she is fully ready. Someone like Poison Ivy would be very problematic for her as she could take control of her plant network and use it to gain new abilities and Really upgraded monsters.

In OK K.O. Revolta would rank as a -4 Villain, relevant to the Boxmore Bots. Her tactics of mind control will work a bit better here as it is unlikely to be discovered nearly as quickly, however similar abilities have been seen here before and weren’t enough to solo. Her most broken move in this series would be Transmutation, which is generally considered a potent ability in verse and has multiple times taken episodes to counter. She also has very good movement options and ways to summon backup to herself which would be helpful if caught out in the open. That said in a head to head fight characters like Rad or Fink would be able to direct counter her by using telekinesis to simply disarm her, without her wand, Broom or other materials she’d be pretty helpless.

Because KO also did a crossover with this series, in Little Witch Academia, Revolta would have stats eerily similar to the Witches of Luna Nova and would be able to compete with them physically. That said her power variety is fairly lacking in verse and would likely not be able to defeat one of the witches in a head to head fight due to powers like attack reflection, anti magic and extremely common telekinesis, among others. That said, Revolta would likely take a more observatory angel and try to steal the magic Grand Triskellion by spying on them from afar which the Witches would not be able to detect. Witches also don’t have much resistance to mind control without outside help, so with a coordinated strategy she could potentially take over Luna Nova.

In the Danny Phantom series, Revolta would have physical power eclipsing even the most powerful ghosts in the series, compete with them in speed and use her powers such as Mind Control and Transmutation to potentially hax anyone she comes across. She would likely attempt to usurp the throne of Pariah Dark and gain control over the spirit of Halloween, The Fright Knight. But the Ghosts of the verse would be extremely dangerous to Revolta despite that, particularly with their common powers like Invisibility to evade her spying on them, Intangibility to avoid all her attacks, and Possession which would simply one shot her. Characters like Undergrowth would be a challenge for her.

Yeah I had to, in Courage the Cowardly Dog, Revolta would be outclassed in stats by courage and his rogues gallery, but her more subtle manipulation tactics would work well for the series, and could actually make a more sweet episode where Courage helps more benevolent monsters stop her from taking over their world. Revolta’s Mirror sealing, Transmutation and Mind Control would work well enough to cause all sorts of mayhem in the verse and cause a horror threat, but Courage has resistance to these abilities and would be able to stop her directly like the courageous little pupper he is.
