Death Battle Analysis: Michael Myers

Happy October Everyone! Ah I love this time of the year, it's a time of Epic Pranks, a diet on Cider and Candy until physical illness and spending free time watching Classic Horror Movies! Wait.. Some of you don't do that? Then you've been doing something wrong! :)

Anyway, in celebration of my favorite time of the year. I will be doing this blog about one of the most iconic horror film slashers of all time! Michael Myers... And let me tell you when this trick-or-treater puts on his mask, and hits the streets, HE'S NOT OUT FOR CANDY!

Background

Michael Audrey Myers was born in Haddonfield Illinois, a normal average American suburb, on October 19th 1957. Michael was born to Donald and Edith Myers, completely normal loving parents, and Michael himself was a perfectly normal boy for his whole early childhood. Then, randomly out of nowhere, on the ominous night of Halloween 1963, a 6 year old Michael went upstairs in his clown costume to the room of his teenage sister Judith and mercilessly stabbed her to death. 

Then calmly walked downstairs and into the front yard where he waited for his parents and the police to collect him. Myers was then taken to Smith's Grove Sanitarium where he was assigned to his psychiatrist, Dr. Sam Loomis.

Under the guise of Catatonia, Michael fooled everyone at the sanitarium into thinking he was a mute, unmoving and near-unconsciousness nut, that is except Loomis.

Michael waited there staring at a wall never saying a word. Though he was not seeing a wall, he was looking past it, looking forward to the night when he would come home. Michael's powers and drive is actually the result of the Cult of Thorn, whose insignia he bears on his arm.

Thorn put a curse upon Michael to turn him into a pure uncorrupted ancient evil driven to kill his entire bloodline as part of their pagan ritual of Samhain. Thorn represented a demon that spread sickness and death to hundreds of thousands of people. According to Celtic legend one child from each tribe was chosen to be inflicted with the curse of thorn, to offer the blood sacrifices of its next of kin on the night of Samhain. The Sacrifice of one family meant sparing the lives of the rest of the tribe. In addition to the Supernatural powers the curse granted Michael, he also gained an intense Rage that drives him to murder his family members, and shall one day destroy him.

The Thorn Druids symbol is formed by a constellation of stars, which only appears periodically on Halloween night. Not only is this what differentiates Samhain from a normal Halloween, it is the one thing that connects all Michaels' killing sprees. 15 years after being committed to Smith's Grove, Michael turned 21, and was sentenced to be tried as an adult, but when they arrived at Smith's Grove, they found that all the patients had been let out. In the confusion, Michael escaped, stole a van and drove all the way back to Haddonfield with the intent to kill his secret younger sister, Laurie Strode.

Michael killed several people that night before being warded off by Dr. Loomis, however Michael is not so easily stopped and has since come back for more and more increasingly insane murder sprees over a 23 year period.

Michael has consistently shown he is a superhuman serial killer, and near immortal Boogyman, that deserves to be feared. He will not stop until every member of his family is dead, and will not hesitate to murder anything that stands in his way.

Personality

Michael is as dedicated to frightening his victims as he is to killing them, and will often stalk a person long before even attempting to murder them. He enjoys positioning bodies to be discovered by later victims and chooses to chase them at a clam fast paced walk as opposed to running. He doesn't have very many defining traits, being more a cold blank slate that one can't get a read on but he is clearly conscious of his actions. Michael has displayed traits of curiosity, anger but most of all he is susceptible to confusion and emotional attachment, which has allowed his would be victims to get the better of him in the past.

Intelligence

Despite being locked in a mental asylum since he was 6 years old Michael Myers is one smart cookie. He somehow possesses full knowledge of how to operate and drive a car, to the point where he cannot be differentiated from other motorists. He is an extremely calculative killer, removing chances of escape to ensure his victim's fate, he Blocks Exits before revealing himself, creates traps, cuts the phone lines, and once even took out the entire power grid. Michael is also skilled at using his surroundings to his advantage, and he has used Halloween costumes to impersonate people he’s “taken care of” in order to get the drop on more victims. Although to be honest, if my friends didn’t notice I suddenly became short, mute and creepy as f*ck, I’d say they deserve what's coming to them. Michael is skilled in misdirection, evident by when he caused a commotion in one location to lure the police away from his intended target. He is also practically an escape artist, and has a great sense of direction and tracking.

Most impressively, in the end of Halloween H2O, Michael played le-switcharoo with a Metic to avoid capture and subsequent decapitation by his sister, crushing the poor man's larynx so he couldn't speak and then even straight up framed a dude for his murders to keep secret the fact that he is at large.

Weaponry

Now while it is no secret that Michael Myers is the kind of killer to use Anything as a weapon, he does have a favorite. Michael's weapon of choice is a razor sharp Kitchen Knife with a whopping 16 inch blade,

this Knife has proven quit trusty over the years, Michael generally holds it point down for powerful stabs, with the blade sticking forward to also allow for slashing.

Michael possesses the strength and skill to decapitate people with his Knife, however, as I previously stated, Myers is clearly willing to implement Anything in his killings.

Michael’s secondary weapons include hammers, scalpels, crowbars, large rocks, scissors, cords, rakes, a surgical saw, pitchforks, scythes, vehicles, and a small axe.

Powers/Skills

Age: 45 (as of Resurrection)
Michael Myers Curse has granted him several powers and skills that have crafted him into a perfect killing machine. 

His most famous ability being his potent healing factor that enables him to near instantly regenerate normally fatal injuries and even entire organs. He was once shot in both eyes and it only resulted in temporary blindness. Some of his more impressive feats involve him shrugging off being shot through the torso hundreds of times at once by a heavily armed firing squad, having his head beaten to a pulp by a heavy metal pipe and burned to a crisp in a fiery explosion and coming out with no tissue damage. 

Apart from healing Myers possesses some form of fear based mental projection commonly known as 'The Shape' this allows Michael to terrify those he is coming after by making them see him everywhere and around every corner and even in their dreams as a terrifying apparition. He also uses this power to track down his primary target wherever they go. In the skill's department Michael is an absolute master of stealth, he seems to move completely inaudibly, constantly hiding in the shadows and striking at the perfect moment as if he is perfectly predicting their moves like some sort of demonic boogeyman. Michael is also an amazing tracker.

Feats

Speed:

• Despite tending to walk slowly like a badass, Michael can casually keep up with and catch people who are sprinting from him
• He was able to catch up to and climb on a speeding truck driving away from his neighborhood at high speed

Strength:

• Impaled through a human body and the wall behind her with a gun barrel
• He can lift full adult humans with one hand no problem, some of them 250+ lbs men, and can support himself and others with just one arm.
• Managed to steal a the rather large gravestone of his sister Judith, and carried it several miles to his home
• He has punched straight through and torn apart hardwood doors
• Smashed through multiple hard wooden and plexiglass doors with the sheer force of his walk
• Jammed his thumb through persons skull
• He’s shattered the human skull with bare hands multiple times
• Tore off a person's head, and twisted a head completely around with his bare hands
  
• Chucked a dude over 30 feet
• Literally pressed a guys head through steel bars
• Pushed down steel cage door

Durability:

• Was hit head-on by a speeding pickup truck and was fine
• Survived a massive car accident that fell off a bridge
• He is unaffected by boiling water, electricity, and being kicked in the crotch
  
• He managed to remain intact after being in the epicenter of a large fiery gas explosion that busted a whole room

General:

• Has accumulated a total kill count of over 115 people plus 4 dogs
• When Michael began his attack on Haddonfield he single-handedly wiped out the entire police force
• Was to die in the fiery explosion, but hell wouldn’t have him
• Somehow climbed a tree with a dead body wrapped in a string of lights and secured it there while at a crowded festival, without anyone noticing
• He eventually succeeded in Killing Jamie Lloyd, Dr. Loomis and Laurie Strode
• He was never actually killed in any of his movies

Weaknesses

Despite being a Pure Evil Boogyman, that doesn't mean unstoppable, Michael has a history of being easily confused or distracted, especially when people remind him who he is. He is weak to sedatives, and despite never dying in a movie, he is not invincible, the means of killing him via explosions and decapitation are heavily implied to do the trick, As Michael had to Avoid these to Survive rather than Tanking them. ...And he got his ass kicked by kung-fu buster rhymes...

Do I really need to Explain this? Michael and Jason are uncannily similar characters and have had an arch-rivalry for over 3 decades! Both have killed well over 100 people, both are the biggest names in slasher films, both have super strength, and are effectively immortal, both never say a word, both position bodies, both wear masks etc etc. Damn, this rivalry is older than Robocop vs Terminator, and is so important to horror fans. For the specifics of this fight, I would recommend Human Jason, AKA parts 1-4, as its the most fair for both sides.

Death Battle Analysis: El Tigre

Hey guys, I'm back, this time we shall be analyzing one of the most Awesome cartoon superheroes ever made, EL TIGRE! And my God, I am so excited to do this one! As far as cartoons go, El Tigre has got to be one of my favorites, and likely my favorite series in Nickelodeon history. So without further ado, I bring you The Tiger.

Background

Manuel Pablo Gutierrez O'Brian Equahia Rivera, or Manny for short, was porn to Rodolfo and Maria Rivera as the latest member of the Rivera family and their long line of metahuman.

The reason I say metahumans is because the family switches from supervillain, to superhero seemingly every generation, including Manny’s father being the legendary superhero, White Pantera, while his grandfather being the notorious supervillain, Puma Loco.

Manny grew up in Miracle City, one of the most dangerous cities in all of Mexico, described as a spicy cesspool of crime and villainy. This lead to his father fighting crime a lot.

Unfortunately his mother could not bare to see him in danger or getting hurt, eventually suffering from panic attacks and episodes.

Sadly this lead to her eventually divorcing him, although they left on friendly terms that made neither have hard feeling, it did leave him largely devastated.

So naturally Manny’s grandpa moved in to help deal with such a troubling situation.

And also because he crashed his evil headquarters…

Anyway, Manny was raised primarily under the care of his heroic father and villainous grandpa and thus has influence from both of them and cannot decide whether or not he wants to be a hero or villain. He wants to be good and make his father proud, but being evil, AKA doing whatever he wants, is just so much fun.

When Manny was 10, he inherited his own Mystical Object of Power, which would allow him to be a metahuman too, The Tigre Belt. By spinning its buckle he transforms into the powerful super being known as El Tigre. Which is fitting for him as the original El Tigre also could never decide whether to be good or evil, which eventually resulted in him going crazy and having multiple personalities.

With his new found superpowers and Not so secret identity, Manny got to work going out on the town with his best friend Frida on adventures.

Both fighting crime and committing it himself when he felt like it, Manny has been in his fair deal of tough situations both from criminals and supervillains, and from something even worse parental discipline, but through numerous adventures and finding himself, Manny eventually decided that he ultimately wants to be and Is a hero.

But that doesn’t mean he cannot have fun and do it his own way.

Manny is fun and honorable, he feels good when he does the right thing, however he is also often mischievous, and will resort to cheating, lying and even stealing if he feels the situation calls for it. His general personality is friendly, outgoing, and highly extroverted, enjoying fun over all else, and spends much of his time pulling pranks, playing videogames, attending concerts & throwing parties. Ofcourse anything which would help him achieve these goals such as manipulation, sabotage and other dirty tactics will be implemented. Yet Manny will always make amends if his father finds out, though he may do similar or worse things to achieve this as well. Despite this Manny would never do anything to directly harm innocent people, and will always do the right thing and be a hero when it's called for.

Intelligence & Skills

El Tigre's intelligence is shown mostly in his immense street smarts, something of which he has more of than any other character in the series, to the point he was even praised for it by a world famous superhero team. He is able to think on his feet and apply this to form and unconventional, yet extremely effective style of superhero-ing.

This has included tricking villains out of their evil plans through Gambling, and becoming a mole in different crime organizations. Manny’s actual booksmarts is also somewhat impressive, in most cases he seem to be as smart as any normal 13 year old boy, but he clearly has his moments, like having chemical knowledge of plutonium, or strategically planning 207 different routes to school avoiding any possible temptation to ditch. Though most impressive of these feats is the reveal that if El Tigre had ultimately chosen evil, he would have conquered the entire world and maintained control of it for his entire life.

El Tigre is also a master of many useful skills. This includes being a stealthy master thief, who has robbed literally every character in the series at one point or another, expert tracking skills, lock picking, acrobatic skills and being extremely adept at hand to hand combat. He is able to quickly learn and adapt to fighting styles and develop his own.

His general fighting style is to go into close range with his claws, before using grabs and his chains to move into more mid and eventually long range combat before repeating. Some general tactics include spinning with his razor sharp claws to create a shredding tornado, striking the ground to create earthquakes and shockwaves, and manipulating the natural Tigre energy of his belt to enhance his strikes.

His most notable move is called The Spinning Armadillo, a powerful attack El Tigre learned from Black Cuervo, jumps high into the sky and spins in a ball to build up energy before rocketing down in an energy enhanced kick.

Powers

El Tigre's superhuman abilities are granted to him through his Mystic Belt Buckle. These abilities include massive superhuman strength, speed, & durability, as well as extremely high endurance. Plus he’s got multiple super powers, Including:

• Claws:

El Tigre’s most trademark power and weapon are his incredibly deadly retractable claws. He has one on each finger and they seem to be both as long as the fingers and able to bend like fingers themselves. That said they are extremely durable and unimaginably sharp to the point they can damage El Tigre Himself if he is not careful.

His claws were able to effortlessly slash through Senor Seiyestron Gigante, who is made entirely out of Solid Impervium, a supermetal that exists in the series.

Additionally Manny can also put his wrists together and spin his claws in a circle to form a powerful shredder.

Even more awesomely though, is Manny’s ability called Clawshot, where he can fire claws out of each of his fingers like bullets to impale through enemies at a long range.

And as you might guess, because of that power whenever El Tigre's claws manage to get damaged or even shattered, he can just instantly grow new claws back after losing them.

• Chains:

El Tigre also has the ability to fire out his hands on retractable chains contained within his wrists.

These chains have well over 400 feet of slack and Manny still retains control of his hands while deployed, making the chains an extremely reliable as grappling hooks, bladed whips, lassos, slingshots, snares, nooses and a cool rocket punch.

As one last bonus, if his Chains ever actually get him into trouble, he can just amputate it with his claws. While this is painful as the chain IS technically part of his body, he keeps spares at home for quick replacement.

• Healing:

El Tigre can also recover from damage much more quickly than an average person, after most fights being back to 100% in just a few minutes, and this also increases his overall endurance. It cannot heal things a normal person can’t heal from however, such as the scar on his face from when he accidentally scratched himself the first time her transformed.

• Super Senses:

Also, like basically every animal themed superhero ever, El Tigre has super senses which massively improve his hearing, vision and smell to the point he can detect things even from miles away. Additionally he also has a keen spatial awareness that gives him increased acrobatic ability and impeccable superhuman accuracy.

• Prehensile Tail:

His Tail is also not only real and functional, but can be controlled like a 5th limb and support his entire body.

• Ancient Tiger Spirit:

The Ancient Tiger Spirit is an extremely powerful energy contained in the Tigre Belt, it possesses awesome mystic powers and can be summoned to its user at will. The Tiger Spirit is basically El Tigre's greatest trump card and something he calls upon when he needs to get out of a jam.

It is So powerful that it was able to obliterate the Forgotten Dead, a giant unstoppable kaiju that could effortlessly defeat the entire Rivera Bloodline at once and actually killed El Tigre in one solid hit.

And speaking of which, The Tigre Spirit contains many other helpful abilities, such as resurrecting its user from the dead! El Tigre can bring himself back to life at perfect health as long as he uses this move within 24 hours of dying. This essentially means that El Tigre cannot be destroyed through physical force alone as this method will allow him to resurrect even if reduced to nothing.

Feats

Speed:

• Once Ran from Miracle City in central Mexico, all the way to the Andes Mountains in Colombia AND Back, in under 17 seconds. Such a feat would require him to run at over Mach 1093.

• El Tigre has also shown numerous times he can casually dodge lasers, and even move at a comparable speed to lasers to run up and push someone to safety after the blast has been fired.

Lasers in The El Tigre verse are all relatively comparable in speed and have consistently been shown to not just be lightspeed, but significantly faster than light, doing things like quickly traveling to deep space, and traveling to the moon or sun in under a second, the latter would require speeds of over 500 times the speed of light.

• Slashed through a small army of enemies at speeds to fast for the eye to pick up.

• Dodged Django’s Lava blast while injured, an attack the Top Tier villain of the series, Sartana of the Dead, could not avoid.

• Is able to jump over 300 feet in the air.
• Consistently runs at rates that give him a Flaming Mach Cone.

• Could fight on par with The Titanium Titan in his Silver Wolf Form, which was fast enough to fly to the moon, build a roller coaster on it, and come back in a short timeframe.

Strength:

• Can casually lift and throw cars and other large metal objects with enough force to explode.
• Can easily toss around and one hit KO several Giant Monsters.

• El Tigre has also numerous times fought on par with Sartana of The Dead, even defeating her while she had backup later in the series. Sartana is so powerful she can oneshot El Tarántula while he had backup.

That guy was so powerful, he once shot his webs up to the moon and physically pulled it out of orbit at relativistic speeds. The Kinetic Energy for such a feat would be Nearly 8 Xovatons, enough to destroy the planet Jupiter! While El Tarántula was younger and more spry when he did this, given how casual the feat was, and how Sartana was established to have ALWAYS been more powerful than him without slowing down herself, scaling is free game.

• Somehow threw hot dogs hard enough to penetrate steel.

• He has punched all El Mal Verde’s teeth out, and that guy can casually split entire mountains in half just by waking up.

• In one afternoon, he took down a giant monster, thwarted a zombie army and stopped a massive meteorite from crashing into the city.
• Grabbed the road up and sent a shockwave which launched zombies into a different county.

• Defeated a giant robot in arm wrestling.

• El Tigre was part of a 3 man punch so powerful that it caused El Mal Verde to be launched into the air and circle the planet before landing. Mal Verde is clearly shown to be in at least the Thermosphere, which is 53 miles above Earth surface, since Earth’s gravity causes objects to fall to the ground at a 9.81 meters per second squared, it would take 131.94 seconds for El Mal Verde to hit the ground. Assuming Tigre is only doing one third of the work, (a fair assumption considering Tigre has much better strength feats than the other two), this means Tigre’s punch alone sent him a third of Earth’s circumference, or 8301 miles, in that time meaning Mal Verde would be flying at a rate of 101,561 meters per second. Assuming Mal Verde weights 11,000,000,000 tons,

Again, fair as he is easily the size of the average mountain, this means according to physics, El Tigre must have a punching force of at least 11.6 Sextillion PSI! Which is well over 5 Exatons, enough to bust the dwarf planet Pluto.

Durability:

• Was once blasted across the entire Gulf of Mexico at MHS speeds where he crashed into a mountain.

• Even in his weaker Manny Rivera state, he can tank being at the epicenter of a high decibel scream which caused a massive fracture to the planet.
• He regularly falls from Skyscraper with no injuries whatsoever.

• Manny was snared in Silver Wolf’s Crimson Whip, which has been shown to instantly melt through Steel, which would require temperatures of over 3000 degrees Fahrenheit.

• Tanked an immensely destructive doomsday laser beam,
• Fell from an airplane.

• Shrugged off a blast from The Flock of Fury’s Atomic Plasma Cannon, which punched a hole clear through a solid gold ship.
• Was crushed under a giant monument.

• Survived a “Reality Bending” explosion that vaporized at least 10 city blocks.
• Had a Laser shot down his throat

• El Tigre has multiple times been directly shot by the magical beams fired from Sartana of the Dead’s Mystic Guitar. Not only is Sartana powerful enough to easily defeat El Tarántula,

But the lasers fired from her guitar in particular have displayed being powerful enough to obliterate half the moon, a feat which would require around 15 Exatons!

General:

• Has single-handedly defeated every villain in Miracle City at least once.
• Single-handedly defeated Sartana of the Dead on four separate occasions.
• Defeated Sartana and Django simultaneously.
• Won Sartana's Tournament of Villains.
• Came back from the dead.
• Out punched Plata Peligrosa’s power glove.
• Defeated numerous giant robots and monsters, including Mr. Bloomyhorse Mark 7, Senor Seiyestron Gigante, Monster Zuma, and The Cyborg Guacamole Cowboy.
• El Tigre has jumped into a guacamole monster and killed it from inside.
• Defeated Don Baffi.
• Won the Super Villain Grand Prix.
• Savagely massacred the Cactus Kid.
• Stopped a hoard of zombies while on their home turf that massively increased their power.

Weaknesses

In battle Tigre can be quite reckless, growing cocky or even arrogant when battling foes he considers weak, he often completely ignores how his actions may backfire in the future. Tigre can also be easily distracted or bored. But by far his biggest weakness is that the Belt is the source of his power, should it be removed by any means, he will instantly revert back to the far more vulnerable Manny Rivera. While Manny isn’t helpless on his own, he’s significantly weaker and loses access to all his superpowers, including the self resurrection.

Blue Beetle

Jaime would be absolutely perfect to fight Manny, they are both young hispanic superheroes that get their powers from mystical artifacts and have the checkered troublemaker thrill-seeker who is ultimately heroic and noble thing down. Manny is a bit stronger than him but not enough to make it one sided as Jaime has a more versatile power set which would make for a very interesting fight.
