How They Compare: The Evil Wizard (Castle Crashers)

The Evil Wizard is the final boss and main villain of the Castle Crashers series and one of the most Terrifying antagonists in the entire Behemoth franchise. The Evil Wizard is a powerful demonic sorcerer bent on conquering the entire planet through means of manipulation of kingdoms, creating vast armies of millions of monsters, and capturing all the power crystals in order to reflect his dark powers over the planet, forever staining the world in suffering and despair. He is a violent and sadistic being of destruction, thought to be responsible for billions of deaths and the torture of whole civilizations just because he felt like it, and if no one stops him, the world will be next.

The Evil Wizard’s power is so great, he was able to create a massive storm across the entire horizon, with winds so strong it ripped his large fortress out of the ground and suspended it in the air. He was able to maintain this storm as he fought against all 4 castle crashers at once, each of which is capable of violently shaking an entire mountain range with a single strike, and he could take more of their strikes than any 3 other bosses in the game combined, putting his power in the Hundreds of Gigatons of TNT.

The Castle Crashers are also capable of running faster than lightning attacks, meteors and ships capable of traveling from the United States to Russia in seconds, putting the Evil Wizard’s speed at hundreds of times the speed of sound.

The Evil Wizard is an extremely intelligent manipulator who has amassed an army of millions and numerous powerful allies, but more than anything he is known for his incredible magic prowess. His most famous ability is his potent Telekinesis which is so strong he is able to create massive weather events like hurricanes and tornadoes, as well as allow him to do the more traditional trick of moving objects with his mind. The Wizard can use his Telekinesis to control every object around him, allowing him to levitate and fly, slam objects into his foes no matter where they run, and pull weapons and objects into his possession.

The Evil Wizard also has Electrokinesis to shock the living hell outta his foes, the Beefy Blast that can boost the strength and durability of himself and his allies, and his personal magic Umbrakinesis. Umbrakinesis is considered a Non-Elemental magic, meaning it cannot be resisted through any special purposes and harms everyone the same. With Umbrakinesis, The Evil Wizard can make explosive waves of damaging darkness, jump to incredible heights with Dark Wall, and fire damaging Darkness projectiles that explode on contact.

For Defenses, The Evil Wizard can summon a blue Force Field around himself, which perfectly shields him from all physical attacks while still allowing him to attack back, the downside being all Magical Attacks will pass right through this. He also has his red Anti-Magic Field, which essentially does the opposite, it perfectly shields him from all magic attacks but physical attacks pass right through, he cannot use both at the same time.

Because The Evil Wizard is kinda an emo, he also has a couple Demonic Forms he can shift into, the first of which is known as the Balloon Form, which essentially turns him into a living bomb, floating above the battlefield and raining down Aerokinetic projectiles, which explode into dozens of smaller Air Attacks. The Second of which, is the much more impressive Spider Demon form, which is a flying 8 armed giant monster covered in enormous stingers. The Spider Demon also has the ability to birth demonic henchmen known as Cultists, Cultists are mindless, demonic beings of destruction and some of the toughest enemies in the game, flatly immune to magic and equipped with powerful weapons and Umbrakinesis. The Spider Demon can summon whole groups of these creatures.

The Evil Wizards primary weapon is called The Demon Sword, a powerful hellish blade that gives the wielder an 8% increase in strength, speed and magic just by holding it. This sword grants the user Pyrokinetic powers, it is able to shoot streams of fire with a single slash, allow you to fly through the air as a flaming buzzsaw, and summon waves of meteors from space to divebomb his opponents.

So how does he do in other verses?

In the Marvel Series, The Evil Wizard would be a powerful and versatile foe among the street level characters, being stronger and more durable than Spider-Man, The Defenders and the majority of The X-Men. His Anti-Magic Field would essentially guarantee a win against any comparable magic users in the series, his telekinesis could easily disarm numerous heroes and villains of their more advanced weaponry, and his ability to spawn his own henchmen can make him have a quick rise to power, particularly if he teamed up with one of the evil organizations like AIM or Hydra. Generally It would take someone like Iron Man or greater to defeat him head on.

In The Legend of Zelda, The Evil Wizard would in most cases be one of the top tier villains, fitting best into games like Twilight Princess, Wind Waker and Ocarina of Time. He would be flatly above powerful characters like Midna and Ezlo, and directly comparable to Ganondorf Dragmire himself in these games, and would almost certainly start an evil faction war with the desert warlock, who would win this fight however would depend on how they play it, as the Evil Wizards aggressive attack variety could allow him to overwhelm Ganon, yet Ganon could easily BRF him to another dimension or something if he can outsmart him. One thing that could prove a challenge for him though are the evil destroying weapons in the verse, such as The Master Sword, Light Arrows or the Sage Sword all of which would probably be more effective on The Evil Wizard than they would Ganon himself.

In Magic Knight Rayearth, The Evil Wizard would be a massive physical threat, having strength higher than most of the regular cast combined and surpassing even the likes of Master Mage Clef in terms of magical destructive capacity. Imagine if you had a dark spellcaster figure like Zagato, but made him as evil as Debonaire and you will see how scary he would be. He would undoubtedly attempt to corrupt the Pillar of Cephiro to twist the world to his sadistic will.

The Evil Wizard has several advantages here, his telekinesis and anti-magic fields would be the most notable as it could counter a lot of the spells and weapons this verse can throw at him. That said he would be far from unstoppable, characters in this verse have reaction speed outright superior to his movement speed, and he would not be able to resist hax abilities found in the verse like Caldina’s Mind Control and Illusions, or Zagato’s transmutation for instance. But past that the verse has Lantis, who not only would be strong enough to fight him head on, but given he is a master of physical combat AND Magic, he is essentially this verse’s Castle Crasher equivalent, meaning there's no way he could properly defend against him.

Not to mention there's tons of things in Season 2 that can stop him, such as The Rune Gods, Eagle Vision and Lady Aska.

In the Devil May Cry series, The Evil Wizard would be a powerful and versatile foe, the equivalent of a final boss in most of the earlier games, and roughly as strong and fast as Mundus, who he would almost certainly attempt to ally himself with and help him to try and bring forth Qliphoth, the great Hell Tree. The Wizard would be extremely dangerous in a fight, especially with his telekinesis being able to disarm his foes in a verse that relies so heavily on its special magic weaponry. He would certainly defeat characters like Lady, Trish and even Nero, though he would still not be able to stop big name characters like Dante and Vergil even if he did take away their weapons. It's also quite possible he could lose to characters less powerful than him, due to hax like Space Time manipulation or Mind Control.

Lastly in the Magicka verse, The Evil Wizard would be a potent boss character to fight. He would be a massive threat to the realm of Midgard with his manipulation and ability to summon armies, Wizards would absolutely need to be deployed to stop him. In that event he would be an extremely difficult boss fight, having stats comparable to a Yeti and the power variety almost as large as The Wizards themselves, including several elemental powers they have, an Anti Magic force field to guard him from almost all of their powers, and telekinesis which potentially could crush them at a distance. Unless it was Magicka 2 where it's basically impossible to beat a group of wizards, it would be super difficult to bring him down, they’d essentially need to block his attack with their own force fields and use a Magicka like Summon Death. That said, he wouldn’t be the hardest boss in Magicka as someone like Cthulhu would be undefeatable to The Evil Wizard.
