Top 10 Fights I Wish I Could Do, But Can't

Got kinda inspired to make this by a recent one of Imp’s blogs where she did the same, It seemed like a Really Fun idea so I wanted to try it myself. In verses there are always going to be fights you want to do, but logistically it isn’t possible to do ALL the fights you’d want. There are some Fights that for whatever reason are just more trouble than they are worth and you have to say no to. So with that introduction out of the way, here are my Top 10 fights that would be Totally Awesome, but I’ll probably never do.

10. Homer Simpson VS Peter Griffin:

So Starting things off we have basically the ultimate rivalry between the two most Iconic fathers in adult animation. Homer VS Peter is pretty much the Bugs Bunny VS Mickey Mouse of it’s demographic, and is such an epic rivalry that even the series’ creators have made entire crossovers acknowledging it. This fight would be wacky and insane with the two having a surprisingly crazy array of powers, feats and skills they’ve acquired over all these years. Now lots of people have covered this fight, but not only is said fight changing all the time as more and more content gets added, but I’ve never seen people actually buckle down and go through ALL of their content giving them all the little one off powers they have to make it completely definitive. Now that being said, the reason why is clear, these two series are MASSIVE. The Simpsons has well over 700 episodes, and Family Guy has over 350, without even counting Supplementary material like The Simpsons Movie or The Cleveland Show, thats over 1000 episodes, and would take someone many months just to properly research. Yeah that would be a Lot for me to go through, and thats coming from someone who has a lot of experience with these shows, so am technically better equipped than someone starting fresh. Also combined with the fact that watching all of Family Guy may be one of the most cynical experiences of my life with how much Anti Humor has taken over the later seasons, that doesn’t sound like that fun a time.

9. Yugi Moto VS Li Syaoran:

This is an interesting fight I thought of between the protagonists of the two big Card series. The fight is fairly even with Yugi and Syaoran both having relatively low physical stats but incredibly powerful magic, skill, summons and other such wizardry, as a result of being descendant to some of the most legendarily powerful men in their entire verse. They also have an interesting personality difference where Yugi started out the series being a kindhearted pushover who learned to be confident and stand up for himself from his friendship with The Pharaoh, and Syaoran starting off the series being more aggressive and serious, and growing softer and kinder through his friendship with Sakura. But while I love this fight idea I am not well equipped to tackle it, and the two series are pretty huge and hard to understand. Yu-Gi-Oh! Has grown into a massive series over its decades of popularity, and I don’t even immediately know what counts as canon to it presently. On the other side, Syaoran scales highly into the CLAMP multiverse, which also includes a main character role in the giant crossover of Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, which is like the Final Crisis of CLAMP in terms of how impossible it is to understand what’s going on. If I were to do this fight I would have had to have exhausted myself of ideas for other fights I’d want.

8. Grim VS Death:

Now this fight would be flipping incredible, many years ago I made a analysis on Grim and to this date he’s got more powers than any other character I’ve blogged on since excluding only Shirley and Strike, and After all this time I’ve firmly settled on Discworld Death being his closest fight. This fight would be incredible, and honestly really funny with the two characters having over the top personalities and softer sides, while still being ridiculously powerful and hax to a terrifying degree. The two also have a lot of really interesting power interactions and advantages over each other that truly do make the battle itself anyones game. Since I’ve already researched and made a full blog on Grim and used his series in numerous other blogs since then one would think doing this battle would be pretty easy but…yeah no. Discworld is a Huge series of no less than 41 Novels and I have read exactly none of them. I am very efficient at researching Cartoons, Anime, Movies, and even videogames, but when it comes to reading material I am unfortunately painfully slow, it would probably take me more than a year to read them all even if I hyperfocused on it, which is a Massive commitment for one blog.

7. Blaze the Cat VS Flame Princess:

This ironically Cool battle of Regal Royal Roasting, has more than caught my attention in recent years. Blaze is my favorite sonic character, and this is a really even and dynamic fight for her with Flame Princess having similar levels of literal firepower and power-variety. It also has some interesting themes going for it with them both being hardened princesses exiled from a strange world who have fire powers that they saw as a curse. All this said despite me being a Fan of the Sonic Series, Goddamn is this series Huge. Blaze isn’t even that major of a character in the franchise, yet still has a prominent role in over a dozen videogames and has appeared in multiple comic storylines, when you add you have to also go through all the other material to scale her properly…yikes. Phoebe herself isn’t exactly easy either, Adventure Time is one of the longest Cartoon Network shows and I’m not nearly as experienced with it as I am with the majority of others which only makes the task of going through it even more daunting.

6. Spinel VS Luffy:

I thought of this fight more recently and I think it would be really fun! Luffy gets a lotta fight suggestions against a large variety of other characters with elasticity, from superheroes to Popeye and most of them are total stomps, usually against him. But Spinel from Steven Universe is amazing for Luffy because she somehow has almost identical stats to him, and it is a weird stat combo, while also having Extreme Elasticity powers which would make for a fun chaotic bout between Rubber Anime Pirate vs Rubber Cartoon Alien. Steven Universe I have totally down Pat, but I’ve never read or watched One Piece, and that right there is the problem. One Piece is HUGE, One Piece is somehow as long as The Simpsons and Family Guy Combined. I’ve heard its a good series but it also hasn't super caught my interest in terms of content, and it is the BIGGEST commitment to try and watch it. While I think this fight would be incredibly fun, the research needed is simply not worth it.

5. Monika VS .GIFfany:

This is a more obscure, but still pretty popular match, a battle between two digital girlfriends from dating sim games, who become so obsessed with their player/crush that they become self aware and defy the laws of the game itself, taking over like a sentient computer virus to make the player their own. This fight would be crazy as its kind of a Metafictional fight that also is between two mostly noncombatants who aren’t used to being challenged in their worlds. They also have really similar powers, but have a lotta unique applications of said powers which give them a lot of unique advantages and potential interactions. It’s an even, close and extremely thematic fight. Now in terms of research its kind of interesting, as Doki Doki Literature Club is just one Visual Novel Game, and Gravity Falls is only has 40 episodes and a few follow up comics and lore books, the actual quantity of research is Not that intimidating, and I’ve done fights that required 4 or 5 times as much in the past. The real reason I’m avoiding doing this fight is honestly just because DDLC has extremely dark themes and subject matter that super do NOT Gel with me, and I really wouldn’t want to immerse myself in the series because of it, even if it means not being able to bring this fight to life.

4. Brainiac VS Ultron:

I am a huge fan of both Marvel and DC, and the two comic companies' rivalry is one of the most famous in the history of Media as a whole. While because of that, I and a lot of other versus debaters, feel that matching characters from these two verses against their closest equivalent from the other is pretty overdone, and often times can be lazy and lead to stop matchups, THIS Fight is absolutely an exception, being one of the fights that just kinda NEEDS to happen. Ultron is literally my favorite villain in the entirety of Marvel, and Brainiac is also extremely awesome and one of the best Superman villains by a wide margin. This fight is actually incredibly close, with the two of them being absolutely Titanic Threats, and both being among the most intelligent beings in all of fiction. They have dozens of crazy powers, hax and feats from across comic history and some of them counter each other in really interesting ways. They also have a wide variety of different versions and forms that give the fight a considerable number of options. Plus beyond the technical aspect of the battle, these two are the rare yet amazing combination of Incredibly Themeatic characters, but also two characters who would both Absolutely Hate Each Other. Brainiac’s desire to digitize and organize all things in the universe and store it as pure knowledge directly clashes with Ultron’s desire to accelerate the evolution of the universe to a higher calling beyond our current understanding. To Ultron, Brainiac would be the death of advancement, and to Brainiac, Ultron would be the chaos of the unknowable, and because of that they’d actually wanna kill each other more than their actual enemies. Now as to why I haven’t done it, well comics are not the easiest for me to research. My Ghost Rider blog was one of the longest and hardest blogs I’ve ever had to research, and Both of these characters have a very similar amount of comics too him. Even without considering how convoluted these two’s histories can get, on sheer content alone this fight would be roughly twice as hard as my Ghost Rider Blog, and thats on top of having to write a long fight scene and other such stuff. I COULD Do it, but it would be the biggest project I’ve ever tackled.

3. Cthulhu VS Pennywise:

I LOVE Horror, I love it so much a good 3rd of my blogs are dedicated to it, and H.P. Lovecraft and Stephen King are two of the biggest names in Horror Literature, each having two of the most powerful verses and all of fiction contained within their works. Cthulhu and Pennywise aren't the most powerful villains in those series, but they Are the MAIN villains of both and the fight would be bigger than our reality can comprehend with the sheer chaos these two titans of terror can rain down. That said, I said Ultron VS Brainiac had a lotta research but DAMN here. When it comes to research Novels are easily the hardest thing for me, I am still trying to read the Creature from The Black Lagoon Novel to republish that old blog, But these two each have like dozens and dozens of cosmic horror novel books one needs to read and understand the scaling of the make these two monsters fight each other, and I am simply not the man for the job.

2. Post-Crisis Superman VS Optimus Prime:

Back before Rebirth combined the 3 main DC Timelines back together, this was Easily my favorite fight for Superman and honestly it’s so good I’m actually willing to restrict him back to Post Crisis only to see it. Superman and Optimus Prime are two absolute ICONS and Staples of Good Noble Hero's from a doomed planet out in space, protecting the human race from all threats. These two are inspiring, kind, heroic to a T and had some of the best toys when I was younger, and the fact they actually have a super close stat combination and array of powers makes for probably the most epic fight I can think of for both of them. Of course however, Superman, even restricted to Post Crisis, has more comics than Ultron and Brainiac combined times like 6 or something and Would be ridiculous to try and research. Even more shocking is how G1 Transformers is MASSIVE in its own right, having an extremely long cartoon series, dozens of anime, and over 1000 comics from Marvel and other independent companies all under the same canon, which makes it truly exhausting just to think about.

1. Composite Cartoon Santa VS Composite Cartoon Satan:

So this is the ultimate Novelty fight I as a cartoon expert want. There are thousands of cartoons and SO many of them have their own versions of two similar sounding things Santa Claus for various Christmas Specials, and Satan for various villainous plotlines, AND I WANNA SEE SOMEONE COMBINE THEM TOGETHER AND MAKE THEM FIGHT. It would be insane, and they would have so many nonsense powers from random and extremely different versions, like you’d have to add Futurama’s killer robot Santa to Fairly Oddparent’s Fairy magic Santa, and do stuff like combine HIM and The Red Guy together, its Nuts. The funny thing Is while Santa of course appears in MORE Series overall due to it not always being Kid Friendly to depict satan in a cartoon, Santa generally only shows up in a cartoon for just a Christmas Special, while when they have Satan he generally is a recurring character who can show up more often and gain more powers and feats, so they should have similar levels of content. Now Obviously the research for this would be Insane, as it isn’t merely a matter of tracking down and watching every appearance of Santa and Satan in animation, you would have to watch the ENTIRETY of every series they appeared in to get all the scaling, which i think probably makes this fight impossible to ever truely do, as unfortunate as that is.
