Death Battle Prediction: Deep Blue VS Gargos

Hello everyone and welcome to my 6th Death Battle Prediction, for this special blog I wanted to go back to what I feel was one of my more successful Predictions, Fuu VS Talim, and feature Another Magical Girl VS Fighting Game franchise fight. But I’m definitely gonna be spicing it up a lot this time, instead of low tier good girls, this time we got two God Tier Bad Guys! Deep Blue, The Alien Dark Messiah of Tokyo Mew Mew, and Gargos the Extra-Dimensional Demon God from Killer Instinct. These two overpowered evil entities have towered over their verses bent on completely conquering the Earth with no regard for human life, but now, turn their unmatched power on each other.
Background:
Deep Blue
A Long Time ago in a...well on our own Earth, there existed a race of humanoid creatures that forged societies much like we do. They had a lovely way of life with technology more advanced than we have now, but in the end the power of nature was still superior.
Due to an Extinction Event, these creatures were forced to flee the Planet as they feared conditions there would become too inhospitable for them to flourish. So they opted to climb onto spaceships and fly in stasis to a New planet.
Unfortunately, by the time they got to this new planet it had actually grown significantly worse than the Earth was going to get, and their ship had run out of fuel so they were forced to stay on this harsh world and make the best of it.
300 Million Years Later, these now Alien Creatures, having evolved immense physical powers and more advanced technology, were contacted by a mysterious entity that told them of a prophecy where their original planet would be returned to them, this mysterious entity was known as Deep Blue.
Deep Blue is the last remnant of these Alien’s presence on Earth, A Sentient Spirit of their Genome that exists in the DNA of their closest relative on Earth, Humans, who evolved into existence over the last 56 million years and rose to be the current dominant species.
Deep Blue has watched over humans from the beginning and after seeing how poorly we treat the environment, polluting and damaging this precious jewel of a planet with our very way of living, he only grew more angry and hateful towards mankind until it exceeded all reason.
In Response to this Deep Blue divulged a plan, he would incarnate himself as a human and, with the help of these aliens, grow into a sort of Dark Messiah who will purge the Earth of Humanity and set everything back the way it was 300 million years prior.
With his power, Deep Blue incarnated as a human named Masaya Aoyama, creating a human personality for him so he would be able to perfectly fit into society until the day of reckoning came. Masaya was nice, intelligent, handsome, and the most popular guy in school, but none of that meant much to him, only a means to be successful and survive.
The one thing he did truly care for was his adorable Girlfriend, Ichigo, who may secretly be the leader of a certain group of Mutant super heroines that stood in the way of Deep Blue’s plans.
This Tokyo Mew Mew group had managed to stop every plan the aliens had made to cause damage to the humans before Deep Blue’s awakening, mostly due to their ability to restore any change in the natural state of things via Mew Power.
Masaya had even begun defending her in secret, having unlocked a fraction of Deep Blue’s power to take on a form known as Blue Knight. But in the end nothing could stop Deep Blue himself from awakening.
Upon his waking, Deep Blue casually stomped through everyone and tried to destroy the planet, only a miracle could have stopped him, and so one did.
The Masaya personality inside of him would not allow him to destroy Ichigo and thus a war was fought inside of Deep Blue, Body, Mind and Finally Soul where Masaya decided to sacrifice himself to stop the terror and activate the Mew Aqua, a device that would purge deep blue from mankind's DNA and restore everything, what a hero.
Though Ichigo was able to save him too in the end, and afterward gave what remained of the Mew Aqua to the Aliens so that they could use its power to save their planet as well.
Deep Blue is a ruthless vengeful entity who will destroy any and all that stand in his path without remorse. His greatest strength is his ability to pick a target or objective and keep going at it relentlessly until it has been achieved. He is extremely intelligent, manipulative and patient, but his stubborn obsession with vengeance has warped his mind to the point he cannot be reasoned with. Even living as a human through Masaya where he was loved and cherished by the community did absolutely nothing to change his mind.
Gargos
Thousands of years ago, when civilization was still young, the world was consumed by a great war between two titanic warlords vying for control of the Planet.
These creatures were Eyedol, a twin headed Ogre empowered by the gods known as Astral beings to defend the planet, who betrayed his duty for his own powermad desires.
And Gargos, an evil Gargoyle who had existed for countless Eons and was the greatest threat to mankind that Eyedol was made to stop. In an Epic battle, these two monsters armies completely destroyed each other, leaving only the two of them left to settle this war.
Eyedol and Gargos faced off in an epic struggle that lasted for hours, both completely unable to defeat the other, but still just as fiercely determined to win control of the earth. But it was in this distraction, that both of these creatures met their downfall, as a group of ancient humans managed to use magic to seal the two beasts forever into the afterlife known as the Astral Plane, where they would remain for all time.
That was the plan at least, as millennia’s later, the company Ultratech managed to create a portal to other dimensions, stupidly Freeing Eyedol to be the final challenge of their Killer Instinct tournament. With his rival gone, Gargos got to work on a plan of his own, one that would finally allow him to rule all.
Using his esoteric powers, Gargos contacted a powerful group of monks on Earth under the guise of the Ancient Tiger Spirit the Monks worshiped. Through this he manipulated the monk warrior, Jago into joining the Killer Instinct Tournament to Slay Eyedol, the only person who could rival him in power.
While this was going on, Gargos got to work conquering the Astral Plane! This plane was ruled by the powerful astral beings, and Gargos managed to slay All of them and steal their powers and abilities himself, growing more and more powerful overtime. When Jago managed to toss Eyedol back into the Astral Plane, Gargos was able to kill him as if he were nothing with his newfound powers.
With his old adversary slain, the ancient gargoyle set his sights on the complete conquest of the astral plane, only a handful of beings, called guardians managed to escape from Gargos, heading to Earth and Sealing off the Astral Plane so that Gargos could never escape and destroy another world.
But of course, Gargos isn't one to give up, using his manipulation abilities, Gargos lured the sorcerer Kan-Ra into opening a portal to the Astral plane, ultimately spelling doom for his planet. The crafty Gargos prepared the world for his coming invasion, sending Heralds of his power ahead of time to infiltrate earth and kill the most powerful warriors, stealing the memories of Tusk, the new Eyedol the gods had chosen, and Corrupting their heros like Jago with evil.
Gargos, after killing all the astral beings and taking their powers had been altered, his body changing with new powers and abilities, turning him from just a simple Gargoyle to a Demon Lord, but to Gargos, he was a God.
With his new makeup, Gargos draws all his powers from the Astral Plane, he is immortal within the confines of the dimension, however on Earth he is mortal, still vulnerable.
To conquer the Earth, as well as the rest of existence, Gargos plans to corrupt the planet with the Shadow Energy of the Astral Plane, making it a sort of extension of the Astral Plane so he can be at full power, and undefeatable.
Gargos upon emerging was hilariously more powerful than all the Killer Instinct characters, and only a Miracle could stop him. Gargos was only slain after the hero he manipulated, Jago, the new guardian of the world, Tusk, and the Ancestor of the very humans that banished him in the first place, Kim Wu, all joined forces to stop him, stabbing him with Warg-gram, a Sword the astral beings Specifically made to slay him.
But even that was not enough to stop Gargos permanently, his ties to the Astral Plane will preserve him indefinitely so there is always a means to come back.
Gargos is a confident, clever and manipulative villain, considering himself a king among demons and a god among men. He is diabolical, unrelenting and will not give up, he’s got a very my way or the highway attitude. He wants complete and total control over everything and will not stand for others getting in his way, those that do will be met with ferocious resistance. Gargos leaves nothing to chance, investigating all angles of his foes, yet seeming to toy with them to throw them into a false sense of security. Gargos has a surprisingly good sense of humor for a villain, he finds most attempts to stop him rather funny, knowing it is so unlikely, he tends to use Minions wherever and whenever he can as to not have to sully his own hands.
Intellect & Skills:
Deep Blue
Deep Blue is a very highly intelligent Ancient being whom has existed for hundreds of millions of years. Deep Blue is a more intelligent being than the likes of Pie, a supergenius alien warrior capable of hacking into and inventing advanced technology and esoteric biological creatures. He’s clever enough to manipulate both the heroes and villains of the series alike into allowing for his awakening even while residing in an alternate dimension and is able to see into the future.
Deep Blue also is experienced in Martial Arts through his good human personality, Masaya, being a champion of Kendo, a modern form of Japanese sword fighting based off of Kenjutsu. While this style is designed for use with the famed Japanese Katana, Deep Blue never actually uses one.
The Sword Deep Blue uses is actually a Tsurugi, a very ancient Japanese sword that predates the Katana. It is a large double edged straight sword he can teleport to himself at will, made to block heavy blows and thrust with extreme force.
This sword was famously used by Takemikazuchi, a figure in Japanese Folklore known for thrusting a giant catfish down to prevent earthquakes, which Deep Blue ironically uses to Cause Earthquakes that level whole civilizations. Deep Blue also likely uses such a weapon with a more modern fighting style to represent how he's an ever present part of this world, in the distant past as well as right now.
Gargos
Gargos is a genius, master tactician and manipulator who has literal Eons of experience in fighting and war. He is cunning, ruthless and prepared for nearly any contingency. Gargos is so smart that he was able to escape from the Astral Plane via tricking the Babylonian sorcerer Kan-Ra. Kan-Ra is a nearly 4000 year old immortal super genius sorcerer who, despite being sealed away for thousands of years, was immediately able to understand both Futuristic Human AND Alien technology and successfully combine it with his magic to make level 3 tech, and Gargos is so smart in comparison he was able to manipulate him like a pawn on a chessboard from another dimension. Gargos is considered the smartest character in the entire KI universe, which would make him at least comparable to ARIA, an AI who was quickly able to read and watch every single piece of literary and visual media made by humans, and effortlessly defeat a certified chess grandmaster after having only played the game a few times.
Powers:
Deep Blue
Deep Blue is an extremely dangerous entity of DNA, he has numerous powers derived from humans, aliens and nature itself which he wields with tremendous power to achieve his goals of purging mankind. His Powers consist of:
  • Spiritual Existence:
Deep Blue’s ultimate defense is his very state of being, he exists on the spiritual plane, thoroughly tied to the life force of all human’s DNA, said spirits consciousness exists in an alternate dimension and takes possession of people to interact with our world.
Deep Blue’s Body is merely a vessel he is possessing and thus he’s actually in very little danger in a fight, as destroying him body, mind and soul will not actually be able to truly kill him. So long as there are human’s, Deep Blue’s spirit can always regenerate his body and come back over time. The only true ways to kill him are to be able to effect the spiritual plane or to eradicate all humans.
  • Spiritual Manipulation:
Deep Blue is able to resist having his spirit stolen by his Alien Followers even while Masaya was still in control, Deep Blue as a pseudo member of the alien species also should have the ability to steal spirits himself, draining away a foes life force down to nothing with merely an outstretched hand, he even seemingly can Erase spirits.
  • Psionic Abilities:
Deep Blue has a wide variety of psychic powers, he is able to sense the presence of his foes and allies as well as telepathically talk to them even when they are lightyears away or in another dimension.
He is able to see visions of the future and use this to show others profices, and he can also look into people's minds and memories and project them before himself as a form of Mind Reading.
But his most Impressive ability here is his ability to erase someone's consciousness. When Masaya’s own Mind got into a mental battle with Deep Blue, Deep Blue was quickly able to completely Erase Masaya’s mind from his being. This is important because it means Deep Blue has the impressive mental defense of being able to delete the presence of others entering his mind.
  • Telekinesis:
Deep Blue, as well as the other aliens, are also able to use telekinesis to both attack and increase their own mobility with telekinetic flight and levitation.
  • Dimensional Manipulation:
This species of aliens really loves their dimensional manipulation powers and Deep Blue is no exception. With this power, Deep Blue and his followers are able to teleport anywhere on earth or even to alternate dimensions, create pocket dimensions to banish people to, and even create small fields around their body that hide them from sight.
  • Chimera Animas:
The most famous ability Deep Blue and the aliens have is the ability to create Chimera Animas, Deep Blue is the best at doing so, able to create armies of them really quickly and of very high levels of power.
Chimera Animas are created from mutating the DNA of animals, plants and even the environment itself to create creatures of mass destruction that the aliens can bend to their will. In general these beasts are powerful enough to compete with that Mew Mew’s and Aliens, who are capable of creating massive violent storms, 4.2 Earthquakes and moving at the speed of lightning, giving them town level MHS stats. And while every Anima is different, they often do have some really dangerous abilities. Some of these abilities include regeneration from being blown to pieces, spreading poison and disease across entire cities or even countries, logia intangibility, electrical attacks, sonic attacks, flight, attack reflection, manipulating dreams, and controlling plants.
  • Electrokinesis:
In what could possibly be another reference to Takemikazuchi, Deep Blue has powerful lightning manipulation, able to shoot lightning from his hands or summon it from the sky.
Deep Blue uses this both offensively and defensively, acting as a counter projectile to shield him from attacks.
  • Elemental Manipulation:
Deep Blue and the Aliens can also control the elements, creating earthquakes, controlling the wind manipulating sand and bending plants.
  • Song of Oblivion:
Song of Oblivion is Deep Blues ultimate attack, it rains down a massive collection of energy projectiles like a biblical apocalypse. This moves most devastating aspect is its range, covering a surface area of over 24,000 miles. This is because Song of Oblivion is a move that will Destroy the Earth in its entirety.
  • Force Fields:
Deep Blue can cast protective, spherical energy fields around himself or others, these force fields are durable enough to Tank Song of Oblivion.
  • Purification:
An extremely ironic power for a villain to have, Deep Blue possesses purification on a planetary scale, being stated to be able to completely purify the Earth to the way it was long ago.
  • Astral Projection:
Finally Deep Blue has Astral Projection, while it is unknown if he can project his soul of his own power, he can fight and defend himself as a disembodied soul, which gives him the ability to fight against soul manipulators and ghosts.
Gargos
As the Shadow lord of the entire astral plane, Gargos is an immensely powerful entity with an extremely diverse and dangerous arsenal of Gargoyle and Demon powers alike, these abilities include:
  • Flight:
If the giant wings weren’t telling enough, Gargos is naturally able to fly, and can do so through seemingly any environment including space, he can also use his wings to create giant damaging gusts of wind to throw foes away.
  • Energy Blasts:
Gargos can attack with his wings in another way though by shooting energy blasts out of them as a deadly projectile attack.
  • Fire Manipulation:
Toping that off, like every good final boss in a 90s fighting game, Gargos Can Breathe Fucking Fire! This flamethrower stream burns the victim on contact because obviously!
  • Astral Projection:
Gargos was able to astral project his spirit into Earth from the Astral Plane in the form of the Ancient Tiger Spirit, to manipulate the Monks.
  • Power Bestowal:
Gargos is multiple times established to have the ability to Bestow his power onto others to make them even more powerful agents of his will.
  • Necromancy:
Gargos can resurrect the dead via Necromancy and force them to serve his will as immortal warriors.
  • Regeneration:
One of the single most Dangerous aspects about Gargos is his Regeneration. Even when just a Gargoyle, Gargos could quickly heal from severe damage simply by laughing and flapping his wings. After attaining the power of the Astral Plane this Healing got even more extreme.
According to Kan-Ra, even after having literally every atom of his being destroyed, Gargos still was able to live through his connection to the Astral Plane.
And eventually will be able to return via regenerating a new body.
  • Lifeforce Draining:
Gargos can drain the life force of living things and use it to both slowly kill his opponent and power himself up. Gargos primarily uses this ability to achieve his regeneration. After his death, Gargos, as a spirit and in another dimension, was able to drain the life force of literally every living thing on Earth and use it to forge himself a new body.
  • Possession:
Gargos’s disembodied spirit is capable of possessing people and bending them to carry out his will or continue on as a vessel for his power under his command.
  • Telepathy:
Past possession, Gargos has telepathy, able to talk to others from different dimensions with only his mind. This can be used in a variety of ways including direct communication, burning images into others minds and even learning new information about those he talks with, like how he somehow knew that Orchid and Jago were siblings, despite the fact not even They knew this at that point.
  • Mind Control:
Even more impressive is Gargos’s powerful Mind Control Abilities. Gargos’s mind manipulation is so strong it was able to casually effect Kan-Ra, who himself has mind control strong enough to make an entire ancient civilization revere and serve him. This mind manipulation also allowed him to steal all of Tusk’s Memories and reverse Jago attempting to exorcise him back onto Jago himself.
  • Telekinesis:
Gargos has telekinesis unmatched in the Killer Instinct universe, able to use it for all practical applications including force choking people at his own leisure.
  • Mental Constructs:
And rounding out the mental abilities, Gargos can make solid living matter with his mind. He was able to create fighting illusions of his pre-transformation self, and was stated by Omen to be able to give the ghost, Hisako her mortal form back.
  • Umbrakinesis:
Gargos’s main element is Darkness, able to attack with and manipulate darkness in any conceivable way, most commonly being giant shadowy energy bursts.
  • Dimensional Portals:
Creating dimensional portals has become the bread and butter move of Gargos’s arsenal and boy does he have a lot of uses for it. Gargos can create portals ranging from small to absolutely massive size to teleport anywhere on earth, go to other dimensions, redirect attacks, attack with melee moves at long range, summon creatures and spatially take things apart.
  • Soul Hax:
Gargos as the lord of the Astral Plane has a few Astral powers as it were, He can suck a person's soul out, draining away their health and adding it to his own.
And if the Soul itself has some fight in it it won’t mean much as he can hit and physically interact with intangibles.
  • Summoning:
Gargo’s summoning is one of his strongest aspects and extremely versatile, able to primarily summon 3 different types of creatures to do his bidding.
The first, and most common of these, are Gargo’s personal soldiers called Omens. Omens are capable of going toe to toe with other Killer Instinct fighters, scaling to MHS Town level through Meteor feats from an early Tusk. Omens are Logia beings constructed entirely of shadows, though can take on solid form to fight, they can fly, shoot lightning and darkness, use danmaku projectiles, nullify a person from using their strongest attacks, can possess people, steal thoughts and crush souls. Gargos has an Entire Army of Omens and can create more of them instantaneously with a mere thought.
Gargos can summon demons to assist him, these demons are much easier to put down and need to be summoned through a portal, but they have good long and short range attacks
Lastly, Gargos can create minions known as Mimics. Mimics are imperfect copies of foes and warriors that he may be facing. Mimics vary widely in power from very weak to equal to the person they are a copy of, and it seems to relate to how long Gargos spent creating them.
  • Skin of Stone:
And here we have Gargos’s most Trademark Gargoyle Ability, the ability to turn his skin into a super durable stone. In this state Gargos cannot fly and suffers a loss in mobility, but makes up for it with Radically increased striking power and durability, to the point where he takes basically No damage from attacks that would seriously harm him normally.
To top it off, when he’s done the Stone layer explodes off of his body launching jagged stone shrapnel everywhere to damage foes.
  • Power Stealing:
Upon defeating foes, Gargos is able to steal their power and abilities for himself, this is how he grew so powerful in the astral plane after Eyedol left.
  • Corruption:
And then we have what is Gargos’ most dangerous ability, Corruption. After taking on the energy of the Astral Beings, Gargos naturally corrupted it and that corruption spread throughout the plane itself. Gargos’ whole goal is to spread this corruption everywhere he can so he will be immortal. Before even arriving on Earth, Gargos’s Corruption was enough to quickly and easily spread across all of Africa, and it is very heavily implied that upon landing, the whole Earth would fall to this corruptive force as well.
Feats:
Deep Blue
Strength:
  • Even Casually, is strong enough to destroy the entire city of Tokyo with but a single swing of his sword.
  • Is Stated Numerous times to be able to destroy the Earth, both by other Aliens and by Genius Scientists.
  • Deep Blue Is So Strong That With his ultimate attack, Song of Oblivion, he was stated to not only be able to Destroy the Earth, but totally reduce it to Oblivion. Violently Destroying the Earth is already in the High Zettatons range, or large planet level, reducing it to nothing is even more extreme, requiring somewhere between 800 Zettatons and 1.3 Yottatons.
  • Casually defeated all the Mew Mew’s at once with just a single projectile.
Durability:
  • Even as Blue Knight, Tanked a Massive Nuclear Explosion that eclipsed a mountain.
  • No Sold Attacks from every Mew Mew at once.
  • During his Ultimate Move, Song of Oblivion, which can vaporize the earth, Deep Blue stood on the planet while doing so and was Tanking it no problem, meaning his Physical Durability is actually higher than his DC.
Speed:
  • Deep Blue was able to Absolutely Blitz the Alien Quiche, Quiche is comparable in speed to aliens like Tart.
Tart is so fast that he was able to helicopter fly from the top of Tokyo Tower to their spaceship in a rapid motion.
Given the distance the ship was from Earth as seen here and timing the 30 word monologue of the Mew Mew’s while Tart did this it suggests he flew 22 million meters in less than 30 seconds, which would put their speed over Mach 2154.
  • Deep Blue is also faster than the Mew Mew’s, who are fast enough to dodge lightning bolts from the sky.
In fact moving faster than lightning is a really consistent thing within the verse that Deep Blue himself could do as Blue knight.
General:
  • Has existed for hundreds of millions of years.
  • Is the God Tier of his entire series.
  • Manipulated Two Entire Species from merely a shadow of Existence.
Gargos
Strength:
  • Is so raw powerful that just upon being revealed, even the incredibly arrogant madman Kan Ra, practically pissed himself in overwhelming fear, calling him a god.
  • Carved his mark over an entire city.
  • Just by arriving on Earth, Gargos casually created a shockwave that dispersed all the clouds over the entire North American continent.
Measuring the blast radius in conjunction with the curvature of the Earth, it’s clear this shockwave dispersed all the clouds in at area of 20,800,000 Square Miles. The Density of Water Vapor is 1.003 kilograms/cubic meter, and the dispersion took place over 2 seconds, meaning the shockwave traveled at a velocity of 6,659,939 m/s. All this means is that Gargos generated in excess of 461 Exatons of Tnt just by showing up.
  • His army is considered the most fearsome force in the universe.
  • Made a giant portal near the size of the earth.
  • Is numerous times stated to be able to Destroy the Planet.
Durability:
  • Is Tough Enough to Tank hits from Numerous Killer Instinct Fighters After they had absorbed his shadow energy to become nearly his own level of power.
  • Can Contain his own power with his physical durability.
  • In his Stone Form Even attacks that would normally deal massive damage to him do nothing.
Speed:
  • During His Shockwave Feat, Gargos flew at the 6,659,939 m/s speeds the clouds dispersed at, this would be Mach 19,602, which is well into the Sub Relativistic range.
  • Can Fly Through Outer Space.
  • Can Outpace Kim Wu who can deflect machine gun fire from a small army.
  • Even before getting his power boost could compete with the likes of Eyedol and Fulgore who are able to move in tandem with lightning, meteors and a satellite laser cannon.
General:
  • Is the God Tier of his Verse.
  • Conquered an entire dimension.
  • Has Existed for countless eons and manipulated numerous events.
  • Defeated all the Astral Beings.
Weaknesses:
Deep Blue
Deep Blue is multiple personalities merged into one body and they do NOT see eye to eye, while Deep Blue is clearly the dominant one, in very specific circumstances quarreling within has distracted him during fights, which is not something he'd be able to easily get away with as when faced with a close opponent. Past that, Deep Blue’s only major weakness is his own stubbornness. Deep Blue has a tendency to stick to his goals and principles even when faced with adversity or when doing so actually hurts his goals, like when he was going to destroy the Earth that he wanted to live on, simply because he hated that humans used it so much he could no longer bare it existing.
Gargos
Most of Gargos’ immense power is not his own, he is being powered up significantly by the Astral Plane, if a foe could somehow sever this link he would be reverted back to a mere mortal Gargoyle. His only other major weakness other than that is his sheer arrogance. Gargos can often be overconfident in his abilities, thinking himself as a god among insects, unable to be beaten by anything short of a miracle. In his own verse he’s more than able to get away with this as he has only been narrowly stopped in the past, but when faced with an equal he’ll have to rethink his approach.

Battle:
A world under peril, The Earth stood alone, a jewel in the void of space now having been surrounded by hundreds of Dark Portals, pouring out deadly shadow beings…
...The Invasion, Had Begun.
The Battle was on a Global Scale, in New York the AI ARIA and her Ultratech forces battled to close down the portals. In the jungles of Manaus, heros like Jago, Orchid and Maya fought bravely against an army of Mimics, and in Tokyo, the Mew Mew’s and Aliens had Joined forces to battle back an army of Omens.
Omens dodged through the lightning attacks of Pie with ease and landed before the squad in formation. “Bow! Before the Heralds of Gargos!” they called to the group
“MINT ECHO” “Strawberry Check!” The Mew Mew’s blasted the creatures back before the Blue Knight jumped in and carved 3 of them to pieces with his sword.
Suddenly the group was rushed by a giant wave of Omens, grabbing Blue Knight and Mew Strawberry and flying into the distance. The Omen carrying Ichigo was quickly shot down as Mew Mint flew up to catch her, but all Ichigo could do was look on as The Blue Knight flew into the distance, “MASAYA-KUN!” she called reaching her hand out in vain.
The Omens flew at tremendous speeds, leaving Japan in the distance all while attempting to enter into and possess the Blue Knight, turn him to a powerful enforcer of Gargos, but there was something some unknown force that was preventing this from happening. “AHHHHHHHHH” The Knight Screamed as the pressure achieved its Max.
The Knight's Eyes glowed red as suddenly and ENORMOUS serge of energy erupted from his body shaking the very planet itself. The Omens carrying him were obliterated in an instant as the shockwave traveled hundreds of miles back to the mainland of Japan and slew every single Omen in the area at once. All the people stared in bewilderment at having seemingly been saved, but there was a chill in the air as the sky remained dark.
...
Meanwhile in another dimension, the Shadow Lord Gargos stood with his arms crossed, contemplating the invasion when he felt the presence. His eyes darted open and looked up before his expression turned into a smirk. “So this world Does have some fight in it after all.” he said with a snicker, “Good, to an immortal, boredom is one's greatest enemy”
...
An immense Blue Aura surrounded the alien dark lord, Deep Blue had been awakened, floating down to a remote Island, he grasped at a tree. “My precious Gem of a Planet, Tainted, Tainted worse than the humans ever could...How?”
A large Dark Portal opened in the distance, out of it stepped what could only be described as a monster, an ancient beast of legend, who towered over the Alien. “You spoke of the Devil, and so he shall appear, I am Lord Gargos, and this planet is now My Domain.” He said in a matter of fact tone as he pointed to his fated adversary.
Deep Blue Skuffed in response, “It is but an arrogant fool who would stand in my way” He raised his hand to his chest, “I am Deep Blue, and this Beautiful Planet Belongs to Me”
“Deep Blue?” Gargos chuckled. “Your Name Matters not, as the Dead Need None”
A Silence seemed to fall over the whole of the planet as the two Titans looked each other over.
FIGHT!
In an Instant Gargos Burst forward as max speed and, before the Alien could react, delivered a powerful punch to the side of his face. Deep Blue’s face turned on the impact but like an immovable stone, held his ground as he stared at Gargos and pushed back against the fist with his face.
Gargos’s shock lasted only a moment, “Hm, Impressive, you now have my attention” he said to Deep Blue’s cold stare. Deep Blue generated an enormous surge of lightning down to their position, which the gargoyle flew high and dodged around with total ease as he called forth a massive cloud of darkness. The whole Island turned into a black abyss only to be ignited with flashes of the speedy lightning bolts.
“You Sad Coward” Deep Blue said without emotion as an enormous burst of electricity exploded from his form, vaporizing the island into a creator and dispersing the darkness with light. Water rushed in to cover the previous battle ground as Deep Blue flew up towards his adversary.
Deep Blue materialized his sword and prepared to squire the annoying beast, but Gargos quickly created a portal beneath the alien and reached his hand through, grabbing his leg and stopping him just short of his strike.
Gargos leaned forward and shot a powerful energy blast from his wings, nailing Deep Blue in the face. As the alien recoiled back Gargos launched himself forward, ramming him downward with his horns as they landed somewhere in central Asia. Gargos breathed a stream of fire out of his mouth at Deep Blue, but the Alien blocked with a forcefield. Deep Blue’s forcefield changed shape and wrapped itself around Gargos and his fire breath, engulfing the Gargoyle in flame to Deep Blue’s amusement. But when the flame cleared the sphere was empty. Before Deep Blue could figure out what had happened he was grabbed by the neck from behind by Gargos as he emerged from another portal. “I will drain your very Soul!” he said as purple energy enveloped him and Deep Blue felt an ethereal force pulling his soul from his form.
Deep Blue’s astral form emerged as his body fell away, much to the demon lord's delight. But that delight immediately turned to agony as the soul let out a powerful slash across his torso leaving a giant wound.
Gargos Roared in pain. “Arrogant Fool, you have underestimated your foe” The Astral Blue called as he blasted the Gargoyle far landing with an unceremonious thud. The Earth began violently shaking, an Earthquake, unlike any felt since the earth was young enveloped the area as a sadistic smile grew on the Alien’s face. “You’ve caused enough trouble, It’s time for you to sleep” Deep Blue said as he willed 2 continental plates to smash together right where Gargos landed, burying the demons body under trillions of tons of rock into the Earth’s core like a demon returning to Hell itself. Cities from the four corners of China came together at Deep Blue’s feet as his body floated with telekinesis back onto his Astral from becoming one again.
Suddenly, In the Sky a tremendous portal opened, catching Deep Blue’s attention as Gargos himself emerged, his hand to his chin in contemplation as Deep Blue starred in anger.
Suddenly Deep Blue launched out Hundreds of tiny jellyfish-like creatures in all directions, “CHIMERA ANIMA!” Primordial Roars were heard everywhere as every single animal in the area was turned into a Kaiju like monster and collectively stood in opposition to the dark angel in the sky. “Ha, Pathetic!” Gargos called as he waved his hand, a massive army of Omens flew from the portal behind him over the city as Chimera Anima leaped into the skies, creating a scene not dissimilar from a biblical depiction of ancient monsters battling the Heavens Angels of Death.
The Two Forces met in the middle and the earth shook at the mighty sky battle, monstrous animals shrieked as they were possessed in darkness, Omens fell away in poisoned agony.
Seeing the opportunity for a strike in the chaos, Deep Blue quickly teleported next to Gargos.
Gargos could Barely turn in shock as Deep Blue sliced upwards with his sword, severing both his Right arm AND Right Wing, before Deep Blue thrust his sword in a mighty downward stab through the center of Gargos’ back. The two flew downward back into the city as Deep Blue’s stab continued until it met the pavement, atomizing it as a shockwave tore the city asunder from the squiring of the beast.
Just as suddenly however, Gargos vanished, ‘An Illusion!’, Deep Blue thought before suddenly Grasping his head in Tremendous pain, he heard a voice contact him telepathically.
“I understand you now” he heard Gargos proclaim with his bolstering voice. “I had wondered why my Omen’s couldn’t simply possess you but now I have the answer, you already ARE the one possessing this form...”
“Isn’t that right?...”
“...Masaya”
“AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” Deep Blue Screamed, his skin rapidly flashed from Pale to Normal as images of Ichigo from his own memories past his mind. Deep Blue had Cast out Gargos but it was too late, He and Masaya were now vying for control.
The True Gargos emerged from a portal and kicked the struggling foe to the side. “You Fool, You Aren’t Protecting Ichigo, you NEED me to stop this creature!” Deep Blue yelled as Gargos laughed at the torment. Gargos flew forward and delivered an overhead ground pound.
But it was caught by the hand of Deep Blue, as he rose up in triumph.
Deep Blue panted, “...Nice Trick Fiend” he said has he took his sword and tried to overhead slash Gargos.
“SKIN of STONE” The Gargoyle called as his skin turned to stone, the sword hit Gargos square on the head and shattered on impact. “WHA..” Deep Blue said in shock before being interrupted by a stone punch to the face causing him to slide several feet backwards, Blood dripped profusely from his nose as his foe had actually managed to hurt him.
Deep Blue wiped his nose and upon seeing the blood, flew into a mad rage as he charged Gargos, the two began rapidly punching each other, the shockwaves of their blows terraforming the planet itself, neither one willing to give an inch to the other as their defenses chipped away.
Gargos suddenly surprised Deep Blue with a headbutt, knocking him backwards, and charged him, brandishing his claws.
But Deep Blue held out a hand and took control of the stone coating Gargos’s skin, freezing him in place.
“You Cannot Stop Me Alien, NO ONE CAN” Gargos called as the stone suddenly Exploded from his body. Jagged Shrapnel stabbed Deep Blue twice in the torso and through his right eye as he dropped to one knee.
But to Gargos’ shock, Deep Blue merely stood back up again. “This Planet Belongs to Me, I will not quit, I shall have it...or none will”
An Insurmountable Aura emanated from Deep Blue’s being which made even Gargos feel fear. In the sky he saw the moon explode as everything began shaking. Gargos rushed forward, Grabbed and Lifted Deep Blue by his coat, “What Is This? What Are You Doing?!”
“You tainted this world, so you shall Die along side it, Listen well, to your Song of Oblivion”
Gargos threw Deep Blue to the side as he looked to the sky and saw it glowing white with a giant planet sized collection of energy blasts.
“Y-you CAN’T, I WON’T LET YOU TAKE THIS FROM ME!” Gargos called as he channeled his own power and created a Gargantuan Portal the size of the Earth as a shield to save the planet. The portal held as the Yottaton energy blast entered in its completion, but as Gargos turned back to his Adversary, Deep Blue immediately punched a hole through his chest.
“You took my bait, How Predictable” Deep Blue said with a grin. Gargos however, merely grinned as he pulled them both into the Astral Plane.
Gargos threw Deep Blue off him as the hole in his chest regenerated. Deep Blue looked at the mesmerizing surroundings, but his mental abilities kept him focused in the corrupted realm.
“Welcome, to my domain, in this realm I am immortal, and soon your precious planet will share residence here” Gargos said has he squared off against Deep Blue. “You’re victory is forfeit, although since you’ve impressed me so, you may barter for your life” Gargos said pointing downward…”Kneel to Your God”
Deep Blue looked and suddenly Burst out laughing. “Kneel? To some wannabe deity who lives off of simple corruption? Now Who’s Pathetic?” Deep Blue said as he let out a massive wave of Purification, Freeing the immediate Area from his control, the wave of Purification Burned Gargos with the power of the sun as his flesh charred and his wings withered away.
“You are unfit to rule, not like me demon” Deep Blue let out a second wave of purification as Gargos ROARED in tremendous agony. “You can regenerate, but it matters not, once I take your spirit, you will be no threat to anyone ever again!” Deep Blue said raising his hand as he started draining away the Demons spirit, power poured into him but...didn’t seem to be halting any time soon.
Deep Blue felt the power going into him but for some reason, began to feel weaker, tired even, he dropped to one knee as Gargos rose up.
“You are not the only one who can Drain one's Life Force” Gargos said.
“I-Impossible, My Spirit cannot be taken” Deep Blue said in defiance as the corruption seemed to return to the environment around them.
“Yours cannot, but the humans of your planets can...you are connected to them aren’t you, my suspicions of this grew after your gamble” Gargos’s wounds seemed to heal as Deep Blue’s began taking more of a toll.
“BASTARD! You CANNOT DEFEAT ME, I AM ETERNAL” Deep Blue Screamed In Defiance.
“No...You Are Dead” Gargos said as he snapped his fingers, suddenly a portal opened next to him, and unleashed a Concentrated Blast of his Song of Oblivion, which Gargos had stored away until this very moment. In Deep Blue’s weakened State, he could Not endure it as it burned him away to ash.
Gargos Laughed, “A worthy Adversary, but his power, like all else, shall serve Gargos…”
KO!

Wow, what a fight, This may very well be the closest one of these I have ever had to do. These two were comparable at almost Everything and literally had some means of countering almost the entire arsenal of the other. Let's start where it’s easy, Mobility, now this stat was almost dead even, as both of them were really comparable in speed ranging from High MHS to Low Sub Rela with Gargos having a bit of an edge, and having basically all the same Mobility bolstering powers like Flight, Teleportation, Dimensional Travel and a means to hide themself from sight.
What this fight REALLY Came down to was a measure of how well their offensive abilities could counter their defensive abilities.
Deep Blue is like an immovable object, not only does he have superior Durability enough to tank any normal attack, but his Hax Resistance allows him to fight off Gargos’s Mind Attacks, fight back against Soul Hax, counter spatial manipulation with his own, shrug off life force drain with his spiritual resistance, and use Purification to cancel corruption. On top of that Deep Blue existing on the Spiritual Plane means that even if Gargos’ body, mind and soul affecting hax worked, he’d just return no problem like the stubborn force he is. But this spiritual existence also proved to be his greatest downfall as it effectively means Gargos doesn’t Have to affect him to win the fight, he just has to attack what he’s drawing power from. By draining the life force of the whole planet at once, something he would definitely do just to come back, Deep Blue would become more and more vulnerable and would inevitably fall.
Gargos’ own arsenal is much more focused on raw attack power than Deep Blue’s with few defensive abilities, but he did have One defensive ability that was a real Ace in the hole, His low godly Healing Factor. While I do believe this is a defense that Deep Blue is more than able to cross in and of itself, Gargos knew what he was doing as he had his own counters to the ways Deep Blue could get around this. My first Idea for Deep Blue getting around this defense was to use his own Spiritual Draining abilities on Gargos, but this would certainly fail due to Gargos drawing power from The Astral Plane AND Gargos’ own ability to drain the life force of others for himself, which would end up taking Deep Blue down first. And the second idea for Deep Blue was his Purification Hax. Purification is something Gargos would be quite weak too as it’s through corruption he maintains his connection to the Astral Plane, assuming that someone could purify the astral plane Gargos would lose his demonic powers and get his ass completely and permanently handed to him. So Could Deep Blue Purify the Astral Plane?
While The Size of The Astral Plane is unknown it is shown to contain Stars, Nebula and a Giant Quasar. Deep Blue has only been stated to be able to purify a planet at once, so even if we assume that this is The Astral Plane’s max size, it would still take Deep Blue sooooooooo long to purify it that he would certainly lose the fight long before he did.
Rounding out the advantages we Know that Gargos was more intelligent and experienced than Deep Blue was, Gargos’ army is effectively endless as long as he’s alive so would eventually defeat the Chimera Anima, and Gargos could even potentially make Mimic Deep Blues that have the same Spiritual existence as he does.
It was definitely a close and complex match but at the end of the day the Unstoppable Force Triumphed over the Immovable Object.
The Winner is Gargos.

  1. Warning Spoilers

WOW! Amazing Blog Thor! I am really impressed and blown away! :)

Sad to say my favorite lost but your reasoning is pretty solid. Truth be told I was banking a lot on Deep Blue's spirit hax and purification to be an instant-win button and without it, yeah....

I thought your analysis were very impressive as always. You did a really great job of capturing both characters! I found it cool just how many parallels and counters the two had, and you did a really good job of laying it out and demonstrating it with visuals.

I obviously know a lot more about Deep Blue then I do about Gargos, and I think you captured a lot about him very well, in particular I didn't realize all the symbolism in regards to his sword. The Anime REALLY boosted his hax, didn't it :P

Gargos seems like a really cool classic Lucifer-ian figure. I found the sheer variety of abilities he had to be quite impressive! His intelligent though, jeez, that feat of Aria was like something out of Portal lol!

Their fight was something else. It was a lot more physical then I was anticipating with them mostly focused on physical strikes. I suppose that is more realistic though, even for beings such as these, as they are both more used to fighting physically.

My favorite part of the fight was Masaya-kun working with Deep Blue to protect Ichigo-chan! I predicted that might happen and I felt it made a lot of sense! Though I am now worried about how the world will fare if Deep Blue can not protect it from Gargos!

I was really impressed with the scenes of the armies fighting and how they creatively used their powers on each other like Gargos using his portals and Deep Blue using his shield to lock Gargos with his fire!

Your reasoning is pretty sound. As I said, I was banking mostly on Deep Blue's stronger haxes to have a more immediate effect. Sadly this did not seem to be the case. Nontheless, Great Work Thor! I am really glad to have gotten to read this! :)

  2. Happy New Year Thor! And an excellent blog to start out the new year. This is a type of creative match-up that I love: pitting together to two villains from series you would have never thought about having a crossover between but somehow super thematic. Both characters seem really cool villains as well! Having both interesting powers and personalities.

These two have a crazy amount of spiritual hax that it was hard to tell which had the advantage at times! But you really laid out Gargos case for winning pretty well, really laying out the limits of Deep Blue's hax and clearly showing Gargos' own advantages like his intelligence.

I love the apocalyptic scenario you presented in the fight, with the heroes of Tokyo Mew Mew and Killer Instinct fighting in the background while these two fight. The armies of horrific monsters facing each other really does bring in the apocalyptic vibe in the fight. Part of me hopes the Earth turned out ok though after it took so much abuse from these two's fight.

Looking forward to the new Skullgirls blog in the new year! :)

  3. What a close fight! This one had my mind going back and forth like a ping pong ball. But I'm getting ahead of myself. This is one of those blogs where I know one side going in but not the other, as I've read the Tokyo Mew Mew manga but have only barely touched the Killer Instinct series (and that was ages ago). It was great getting to learn about Gargos, he is the coolest and most powerful gargoyle I've ever heard of! Very impressive rise to power for what's usually considered not a very extraordinary kind of monster.

Both of these guys had a surprisingly long list of powers. Kind of a shame that they're pretty resistant/immune to a lot of each others' tricks but at the same time, thanks to Deep Blue's spiritual nature and Gargos' regen, it makes for a fantastic spectacle getting to see all these abilities clash for dominance regardless of their effectiveness. Speaking of their incredible hardiness, I was hard put to figure out which one could put down the other and who could do it first. I like how you pointed out in your post-fight analysis that Deep Blue's greatest strength can also be his greatest weakness; being bound to the human race's survival is very dangerous at this level of power. I thought Deep Blue's purification would be too OP but if it can't sever Gargos' connection to the astral plane without purifying the entire dimension then I don't think he'd have enough time before Gargos used his insidious intellect and mental probing capabilities to find a weakpoint he can exploit with his wide array of powers.

That's all mostly to do with the analysis, now I'd like to talk about the great job you did on the fight itself. Very entertaining stuff, the intro was freaking perfect and the score set the stage and each of the major transitions in the fight so damn well. I was hooked and strapped in for one crazy battle across Earth and other dimensions and you did not disappoint! I think my favorite part was when Deep Blue buried Gargos underneath the plates, great allusion to the a devil being cast down to the depths of the underworld and sealed away. Except this devil got back out! The clash of armies was another great highlight, I love the descriptive language you used there. The characters felt very, well, in character and the killshot was very satisfying. Plenty of great destruction here, it was a feast for the mind! Consider it a job very well done, I love your fights man! You definitely have a talent for this. Thanks for the blog and I can't wait for the next one! Your Skullgirls blogs are always my favorites out of your character analysis blogs.
